Sundown

Anybody else go to Sundown tonight? That shit is fucking melted. Bare sports everywhere ice all over. Launches to the rails melted making them super hard to hit, Made me sad, I can't see them being open for much longer. They just built some sick new features too.

Sorry for the kind of pointless rant, just made me sad that it's early March and Sundown is looking like it's gonna have to close.

I was there today, ate a lot of shit but it was pretty fun. Toms was almost too slow to hit, but stinger was awesome. That cannon pipe is pretty sweet.

Nooooo if it closes this weekend that means my season is officially over. I was hoping I could go next weekend because I can't get up this weekend. But I guess not. So much shit I wanted to try! The wait to next season is going to kill me.

they will be open this weekend. i know because i will be teaching little monsters sunday afternoon

Don't be scared. Our overnight groomers are magicians, I swear. There's still a ton of snow, it's just stashed away in spots, we didn't want to break into the ice layer before this first round of heat, it'll be cooler over the next couple of days which will help longevity. We will be open for sure through the 17th (since we have the bump comp), and who knows how long after. Worst case scenario, certain trails get narrower, and we possibly lose the jump, but I'm not worried about that. Bare spots will happen, but they'll be fixed overnight and back to normal the next day. I've seen the mountain WAY worse than what it was yesterday and still get another week out of it (I remember 2 years ago skiing on straight mud to get to a rail and gaping dirt to get to some snow past the landing, and they were able to stay open for another week). BTW, that ice is KEY right now, it's what's going to keep the snow around.

Hopin for the jump to still be around not this weekend but next. Want to try some new airs before the seasons done. Stoked to here that it sounds like theres at least going to be rails around into mid or even late march.

This just showed up on my FB by someone (I'm not working today, so this is the first I'm seeing of the hill) and all the bare spots from yesterday have been fixed from the looks of things. Like I said, no need to worry. Yes, at times it might look like it's all over, but like I said, the overnight guys are awesome!
