where would you rec. ? need to find a place close to danbury thats got a good park for CT for next season

Sundown. Better park, better snowmaking, more fun. Made it further into march than any other mountain in CT

i wouldn't say more fun or a better park... i would agree that sundown has a better snowmaking system but southington has become better along the lines of finally establishing a park! we are working to make things bigger and better for next season! dont get me wrong sundown is an awesome place but, southington is my home MTN and i couldn't ask for more!

leaning towards sundown . i remember ridding both place but that was at least 2 years ago , and sundown having the better park . just dint know if that had changed

Bryan, you and I are both very bias about our respective parks...but you really can't compare Southington's park this past year to Sundown's and say Southington's was better...

Don't get me wrong, Southington has come a long way as far as parks are concerned (and Bruce's Jibs for Cribs has helped you guys out a lot). However, in one of the worst winters for skiing/park building, Sundown had two full parks, including up to 3 jumps at one time (1 30ft table and 2 10ft tables), we were also able to get out 6 of our 7 biggest rails this year (5 of which are 40ft long), and the only reason the 7th didn't come out was because it needs some repair this summer. By mid-January we had 25 features on the hill at once, and peaked at 35 features at one time.

It's not to say you guys didn't work your asses off...hell all of New England worked their asses off this winter...and you guys did an awesome job for what you were given. But it's pretty simple, better snowmaking usually equals better park...especially during a year when there's virtually no snow falling from the sky.
