Sunday River vs. Sugarloaf

I'm heading up to either the river of the loaf for a long weekend in march to hopefuly shred some glades and park.

Which do you guys think would be a better option at this point?

Who has better snow/park?

We just got dumped on, so as long as it doesnt rain, we will have good snow for a while.

Sunday River is my old turf, and I always thought they had a better park, but Sugarloaf is doing pretty nice stuff this year.

SUGARLOAF
better snow, longer park (haywire is dooope), fewer people in the lift lines
sunday river has lift lines that are super long and their parks are really short.

In previous years I'd say sunday river.

But this year, The Loafs park is dope and sunday river got rain so yeah.

If you really really want to ski glades, I'd go to saddleback because they got the most snow out of everywhere.

I can't tell you anything on sunday river but i know the loaf is pretty bad ass. conditions were bad but they had an ok park, it had alright features but it was a well organized park and they also had nice long runs. i spent most my time goofing off on the slopes tapping trees and i had a blast

Park is longer but lines are not...

Both just got a pretty good dumping. You won't go wrong with either.

I'm a Sunday River man myself. More people go there but there is much more terrain so it's not bad getting away from them haha. And the park usually really good.

sugarloaf has the WORSED lines, no idea what you are talking about. The way sugarloaf is setup it all funnels down into the one quad that you use to lap the park. SR is spread out, i hardly ever wait.

SR is sick for glades if you know the local spots. otherwise sloaf is better in that department

There parks are close to on the same level, but sr has more rails.

sugarloaf is always cold

its decent. they have a couple of nice jumps to one side, and the other has 3 sets of 2 features side by side. flat box/flat bar, kicker box/flat down rail, down flat rail/down bar

sunday river's got a pretty dope park, but lots of massholes and mad joeys. overall more hectic/busy. they're other terrain is alright but doesnt compare to the loaf.

the loaf has better snow in my opinion and better terrain outside of the park. there park is probably equivalent to SR's parks, they've usually got it on point.

I usually ski the river cuz its closer to my house for day trips but i prefer the loaf in almost every way.

Well Sunday river is my home moutain and i do love it but if your makin a trip I would say sugarloaf for march skiing. They always have good snow. either mountain would probably be a good choice

If you are looking for it you will find it. There are plenty of opportunities for glades, marked and unmarked, at both mountains. The snowfields at sugarloaf are usually good in march as well. That being said, Sunday River often has comps that utilize the park, rocking chair, or pipe on a typical weekend. Check the events page because Jib academy and dumont cup take place at the end of march. Sugarloaf, also uses their setups every once in a while and is also closed to the public. As long as their is a decent amount of snow both mountains should be fun.

the rivers park is pretty good now, i was their today, there is some new log thing over in rocking chair that looks dope.

LOAFFFFFF

I have spent 33 days up there already this season, and after all that snow you can't go wrong. Parks are in rebuild mode right now and everything is going to be so soft, all the woods are incredible, and overall I enjoy it more than SR. Come up and chill with us

Sugarloaf FTMFW

All reasons previous stated; Park is on point, Longer Runs, and better snow. I skied SR a couple times earlier in the year and just wasn't impressed. Park wasn't that great and was crowded.

I have been up to Sugarloaf a few more times and the best was deffinitly this past weekend. Money snow, warm enough, ballin glades, and you could still get enough speed to clear all the jumps even with all the fresh snow.

You know on second thought, there was way more kids rockin tall tees at SR.....

SUGARLOAF IS FAR MORE SUPERIOR THAN SUNDAY RIVER WITHOUT A DOUBT. SUGARLOAFS PARKS ARE PRETTY SOLID THIS YEAR BUT SR HAS A BETTER RAIL SETUP. SUGARLOAF IS KILLIN IT SUGARLOAF FTW.

Bucksaw is one of the slowest lifts I have ever been on.

Sugarloaf is better for weekend trips, SR is better for day trips, I think. Either one would be fine, but I like Sugarloaf more mostly because I skied there a lot more than Sunday River.

Sunday river all the way, Sundays parks are usuall 20 times better than loaf...and people r way more chill in the parks at sunday river..kids at loaf r mostly jerks, except for like 10
