not sure if you guys can see it but theres another trail off to lookers right that they are making snow on i think. new trailz

Straight from their site. Things are looking good for this weekend.

As our Snowmaking Counter continues to creep up, it serves as a nice little reminder to being the first in the country to open. It also illustrates my point on this time of year and the surrounding excitement. While most other resorts received snow, cold weather, or a combination of both in October, Sunday River had received nothing, as in zip, zilch, zero. Nothing! It wasn’t until the Thursday before we officially opened that we were finally able to make snow (clearly a minor detail if you’re a Sunday River snowmaker).

See nothing stands in our way of excitement to ski and ride. Take our snowmaking excitement, add a pinch of cold weather, and a hefty dose of 74snowguns, and you have the secret to our early season formula for success. Sometimes we call it the most dependable snow in New England, other times we call it love.

Looking ahead, we have an unbelievable stretch of cold weather and have already spent an extensive period of time blasting snow up and down T2 and The Punches along with Jungle Road, Ecstasy, Right Stuff, Agony, and Lower Arm. Looking at our cam shot of the day, you’ll notice that we’re making serious headway. In fact, we're going to try to make some serious headway down to Barker Base Lodge tonight. And yes, you have reason to get excited. In fact, you have reason to start making plans now to ski and ride this weekend! The closer we get to it, the better of an idea we will have as to exactly what is open and how many terrain park features you can expect.

Rome may not have been built in a day, but that’s because they didn’t know us at the time.

the way they individually point this out leaves me to believe they either have absolutely no plan OR they have a huge secret suprise for us

i really hope its the surprise. maybe theyll actually have a bunch of features and not just a couple...which would be sick....so sick

yea like a nice 6 or 7 jib garden would be sick!!... it looks like they will be able to open like 2 lifts to so thats sick

According to their facebook, they are looking to have up to 4 features set up for the weekend in Grand Junction.

if your on barker mountain its where all the trails meet up in the middle..the bottom of upper sunday punch and ecstacy.if you know the trail names

aight update time. this weekend: one trail one lift just as it was before. 3-4 features in the park one box plus some rails. no top to bottom. guna have to download again but thats okay

actual setup for the weeknd:

16 foot flat box

16 foot single barrel

16 foot 2x6 flat bar

+1 more maybe

eh id just as like much to see a corrugated tube. since sessions on that get rutted out towards the end of the day way less often and way less severely since its lowerr

Update: there are currently two trails open, upper munch and T2. There is downloading from the mid station. There is also one box and two rails set up at the bottom of T2. Best geuss would be the flat bar and down single barrel they had from 2 weeks ago and a flat box. Not even close to positive on that though.

Skiing was top to bottom today, T2 and lower sunday punch. They had a ride on flat bar, a flat box up against a down flat down box (so basically a flat down flat down) and a single barrel down rail.

I would be kinda surprised if they were able to add another trail to be honest, they hadnt really made much headway on any others by the time we were leaving. Werent even blowing snow, but you never know. Also I forgot to mention upper sunday punch was open as well with a fun little booter that a few people made. Wouldnt count on it being there tomorrow though.

how long was the first flat box and did they turn it into that feature like they sometimes do or was it set up like that from the beggining?

and sorry for the dub post but was the ride on flat bar the one that was like 2 inches off the ground the first weekend or is it a legit flat bar?
