Sunday River this weekend.

thought my sunday river days were over but i got a pass for winter break, is t72 gonna be lit this year?

They said it would be lit last year but no lights on it or 3D. Disappointing but honestly I wouldn't be the smallest bit disappointed if they just put in some more rails in that whoville park at night. Night skiing was always so much fun

this, night skiing is so fun to just fuck and a couple rails would make it a lot more fun.

If they put in something longer or something more rail like and less box that would be way too much fun

Today was surpriseingly fun we drug out 2 flat rails and set them up and threw down. Jumps are much bigger than last week but so icy there un hitable

Yeah I swear the rails we just set up with two shovels were better than the ones they actually had set up. Was bummed how little they had compared to last weekend, though the jumps were ight and park crew said they should be putting in a few more rails tonight.

That's the plan from what I've heard

how were the conditions this weekend? Anyone going to be up during the week and wants to ski? Anyone that wants to carpool from boston?

I was up Friday and today. On Friday the park was pretty crap just because they only had the first three features set up and they weren't that good. The snow however was pretty awesome left over from the 2 days previous. Today I was up and the park was pretty on point, with 9 features, all pretty solid and fun to hit, but by the end of the day there was a bunch of ice/hard snow both in the park and (mostly) on the trails beneath the park. Still, I'd reccomend heading up because the new setup is pretty prime.

Broke my collarbone Sunday, but I'll be back in January. Stoked to ski with y'all again. Hope I heal up better than before.

Damn man, have a fast recovery.

Sunday River was on point as hell sweet first little warmup powder day. Great coverage underneath the 5 inches of powder too surprisingly I didn't hit anything.

Anybody else super stoked for T72 shredding this weekend? Looks like I'll be heading up Sunday! So glad we won't have to take that Locke Triple anymore. Does anyone know if the North Peak quad will be open for park laps?

No North Peak Express, Chondi for the weekend. Can't complain though it isn't the Locke Triple ;)

Also big question for me is what will they have for kickers? Really looking forward to hitting some good sized jumps. PurpleDino you have any insight for us?

I'm not really sure what their plan is on the build. From the snow we made it looks like you could make a decent sized jump line up top and there's enough snow on the bottom to start a good rail garden. It really depends on how much snow park crew is looking to leave as a base. That base will be important because T72 only gets limited run time on the guns. I'm curious to see what they're going to do with the snow that's up there now.

Usually I downvote triple posts but this one is just too exciting. See you all up this weekend

I'll be up on Sunday at least. Doesn't look like I'll be able to get a ride on Saturday which kinda sucks but w/e. See you guys up there.

So its gonna snow tonight and tomorrow until about noon and then rain. I think it will be worth it going up for fresh snow in the morning

It's starting to snow now. Should be good this weekend. Classic case of gotta work.. Anyone racing?! I'll be there lol racers...

Was up with a crew on Saturday and Sunday, park was so on point, just pretty icy/hardpack today so it hurt to fall. Yesterday was super sick until it started raining. Sick weekend nevertheless.

One of the biggest setups I've seen them pull off, this year should be great for T72. All of the rails were absolutely sick, and the jumps were getting there for early-ish season. Good stuff!

Can someone give the people like me who are unfortunate enough to be away at college right now an update on the setup for T72, feature by feature would be much appreciated

3 top jumps, 10, 20 and 30 footer with really steep landings.

Rails, 10 total

On left

Medium-width down tube 20 ft (was second rail at top of pre-season park)

Medium-width semi-harsh DFD 30 ft (from Design-a-Feature, doesn't feel like 30 ft)

Massive fat cannon tube, 15-20 ft long, 4 ft off ground. This thing launches you

Fat FDFDFD tube, super mellow, 35 ft (from Dumont cup)

Medium-width up tube 30 ft in to close-out on either side, can use closeout as stall feature (looks like a T, quite sketchy its easy to get ski caught under closeout)

On right

Flat box 1 ft wide 10 ft long

Fat down tube set in ground, 25 ft (was first rail at top of pre-season park)

Elbow-y fat C-rail tube, 20 ft

Medium width flat tube, 20 ft

Super steep fat cannon tube, 15 ft long (probably 6 ft off the ground at the end with a ~40 degree pitch)

Everything in the setup, especially the left side, is huge and super fun. The setup is as good if not better than anything they had up last year (if only the landings weren't so icy!)

thanks so much g, just talked to Zach Tidd from the Lineup (lol) and that was his consensus as well about the park.

Sunday River is gonna be sick next few days with all this snow droppin.

Got my room booked up in Bethel Tues and Weds night at least 3 days of powder skiing coming up! HMU if anyone knows anything going on at night this week.

LOL, they had that problem last year too. My guess is they rushed to open it, pushed out all the snow they blew while it was still wet, and now will pay the price until they rebuild. Luckily we're all getting 12+ of wet snow the next few days, so long as they don't get too much ice/rain (good luck) and know how to groom new snow the landings should be a bit better.

Bummed to hear they only set up 10, 20, and 30 footers though. Do you have to slam on the brakes between each hit like last year? really ruined the flow IMO.

Park was surprisingly flowy actually still a bit of slowing needed, but the conditions were sick on Saturday until it started raining. Video recap of some of the features here if you want it

Yep, basically you have to go in to them really slow, save the last one, and if you go even a tiny bit too fast you will send it to flat because the landings are so short and steep.
