someone who works here with me, maybe something will happen between now and then, very possible. Just saying what I heard.

Please try as hard as you can to get them to put up some stuff! Would be a major bummer if they had nothing opening day.

I'll be there to shred either way

If you're close, you should come up next weekend for fall fest. North American Wife Carrying Championships Saturday (totally serious) and the New England Cornhole Championships on Sunday. Plus bands and drink tents and stuff, gonna be a solid weekend.

Just asked Sunday River on Facebook if they would have anything set up and they said "The goal is to have something set up if space and time allows for opening day. We won't know for sure until we get closer. When we do, we'll post it in our Mountain Report."

So, fingers crossed guys. Get stoked.

I just hiked up gnarnia yesterday. Has anyone skied that yet? It's the cliff under the spruce line.

looked rugged...

I skied it a few seasons ago. kinda disappointed all they did was thin the woods so people could pass the cliff, there are some rocks in the landing that could be removed

Could be nice in deeper snow but there are a couple kinda ditches and rocks jutting out into the trail that make it a little sketchy. Just seen it from the lift, never skied the trail.

Any word from someone who works there if they will fire up the guns next week, looks like we may return to some nice chilly temps for awhile

Well they were saying there going to open as soon as possible..so I would assume as long as temperatures are appropriate they will

Tru what I was thinking about was more along the lines of if okay snowmaking temps would mean a go at attempting to open even if coloring those acceptable wet bulb windows there was more warm weather periods which May make sustained operations challenging

One more weekend to get through until Oct 31st.... That's fun to think about

Yeah, my buddies and I are most likely going to be scouting urban around the Portland area next weekend because I can't seem to find any jams or anything that weekend.

Any word on what features are going to be up for opening day in the park? Will the park even be open?

Nothing from them yet, they said they'd post it on their mountain report once they knew what was happening.

Crossing fingers that weather gets better (as in colder). Really want to ski next weekend!!!!

Was hoping to skip school friday and head up for Halloween but by the looks of it snow might be a problem. Hopefully temperatures drop.

We won't be skiing Halloween this year. No chance :(

Would they open up at all next weekend? The possible rain looks like a bummer, but maybe Sunday... who knows.

In my opinion they possibly could Sunday, and some weather models are even showing snow for this weekend. Just won't be open Friday, I'm pretty bummed that this will be the first winter in three years I didn't start in October!

I know SR has opened on or before Halloween for the last like 8 years or so so I bet they're bummed too, which is why I'm hoping they will try to get things going for that weekend in order to make up for it

Hopefully they can get things up and running by Sat, cause I don't think that they'd open up just for Sunday.

Sunday River Parks just posted a pic on instagram with rails headed up to Upper Sunday Punch saying "BIG plans for upper punch. Just waiting for Mother Nature to do her part."

Yeah man, hopefully we get some colder temps during the week so it can happen sooner than later. Either way, really looking forward to preseason park, was so sick last year but I sucked then so I couldn't really appreciate it.

Getting cold up here. Looks like we might be able to fire the guns up Thursday, which would make for possible skiing Sunday. Plus our weather models are calling for snow Saturday and Sunday. That's pretty optimistic though.

Hypeeee. As long as the precipitation is of the white variety that sounds quite good. If it's rain, I'm not so optimistic about opening.

Tomorrow is gonna be the day if Sunday River ends up saying anything because they will have to start pumping tomorrow to be ready for the weekend. Temps are finally low enough and if they can get a solid base layer down hopefully mother nature can add a little on saturday. Everyone keep an eye out for an announcement or something because the hype is killing me, I NEED to know when I'm gonna ski!!

Ps just did my snowdance, crossing fingers that shit works

They still haven't updated the Mountain Report since they first blew snow in September. Also weather this morning said that the storm is moving further east than expected so it may not hit SR as hard as we hoped. I'm still hoping tho
