Sunday River this weekend.

White cap sucks cause they let the whole area go to shambles. Patrol did a good job on recutting chuztpa and hardball. I found the parks in white cap to be pretty good this year. Really liked the moonstruck park this year because it was a area where people could progress their rail game without eating mad shit like some of the features in jib park. Learning rails and stepping up to urban on anything is intimidating.

Sunday river thinks in strange ways. I think they will see a fuck ton of complaints if they go the one park route. It all doesn't matter too much to me though cause im heading to Utah in the fall and I'm not getting rehired for summer which is some bullshit I don't really want to talk about.

got some sunday river shots in our upcoming movie. check out the trailer and the movie may 24th

I think SR needs a baby park but aside from that I don't think the new park being the only other park is a bad idea. Look at Carinthia. I fucking hate how if I want to hit jumps I have to go to Rocking Chair but theres no fucking rails in there and I hate how the Jib Park is flat and lacks jumps...this seems to be the solution. The guy they have as terrain park manager knows whats up he rode the lift with me and a homie and said that SR has been limiting them this year but once they get the new park, SR's letting him go full force. And he worked 8 years as park crew at Northstar...

Unless they are cutting everything in there but a a narrow strip keeping 3D and Dream maker separate trails I don't know how they are going to fit a single, mountain wide, park there. They are still going to need at least 2 more parks, something like Moonstruck and whoville (which is barely a park though)

Maybe they will bring back the lower 3D park too?

If the chondi hadn't made it such an important trail, Top to Bottom American Express park would be sick.

Honest opinion, whats the park looking like? Coming up for 4/20 (blazeweedzyoungmoney) and am debating between SR, which always has a decent spring setup, or Sloaf. Am willing to drive to sloaf if SR just isn't cutting it. PM or post in this thread to let me know. Thnaks.

Ns callout: who drives a black ford focus with a Sunday river Sticker and a saga Sticker and a Maine plate because I'm driving behind you on rt 26 back from sr...

What a time, good vibes and fun laps. Rocking Chair is surprisingly fun as fuck. Everyone was throwing some new tricks too.

Hope to get up one more weekend and then off to Sloaf.

Headed up on Sunday with some friends, should be a sunny day skiing then some skate park seshin. Good times to be had.

holy crap the morning sucked but once the snow became soft and the lift line died down it was a pretty awesome day

Great afternoon after it softened up, minus the sore leg from overshooting a backie on the last jump. Who was the NSer I called out in the parking lot in the morning?

Good times up there with my homies. Great way to wrap up the season. The lines were kinda shitty, and park wasn't exactly prime, but fun nonetheless.

Afternoon was some of the best times of the season, we waited up top for ski patrol to leave and we skied a last run down T2 bombing all the way to Rocking Chair.

Hope to get after a few more days at Sloaf, but great season ending for SR.

good season guys

sad to see it go. ;(

At least this will get bumped in 6ish months when the talk of the town is when the River is opening up again!

I still work there and they are pretty much done cutting. They are laying out snow making pipe right now. I though this whole project was going to be pushed off again just like everything else at the river but that shit is going to be open for this upcoming ski season

This trail could bring good news or bad news. They are going to slam a ton of features into that trail and this park will kill off rocking chair, that shitty half pipe we had, rocking chair, and potentially moonstruck. I'm also not sure if they are going to get lights up in time. We will also not be running lift 6 for that park. If we do run lift 6 its going to break down. That lift simply can't handle all of the run time. It has the most hours of any lift on the mountain.

Well that just destroys all hope for hot lapping. So pretty much the chondola is the only other option.. How can that lift possibly have more hours than spruce or locke?

It use to be bike parks lift and use to be the scenic chair for 8 years every friday, saturday, and sunday and it use to run everyday during ski season.

I thought that was the whole purpose of this park though? To provide park users with their own lift to keep them away from the beginner terrain?

It does. Instead of having you bomb down broadway you will take second mile which is flat and no one can go super fast on it. Once you finish your park run you will be at the bottom of 6 and from there you go to southway which you kinda stall out at the bridge if you don't have fresh wax on your bases. From there everything is more orderly than having park kids bombing down broadway into some perfect turn class using the whole damn trail.

they will be running chair 6. that you can count on. chair 6 is still a highspeed quad, and will probably be getting some serious maintenance work this summer. It is true that lift does have a fuck ton of hours, but on all weekends and probably most midweek days, that lift will be up and running. At the end of the season and at the beginning expect to take the chondi though.

From the sunday river community, which is usually where you can find the best info there, there is a general feeling that north peak quad will be running regularly at the very least.

Holy fuck im stoked for the new park, seems to me that they're taking this shit 110% seriously so id imagine itll be banger

apparently, this new park is also going to take the place of Moonstruck, and jib park. Not sure about Starlight though. I hope they don't get rid of starlight, the small jumps are perfect for beginners.

Other than that, I am super stoked on the new park. Like 207 said, they seem to be talking this super seriously.

i hope some new jibs are going to be on the way as well. a proper down flat down would be much appreciated, as would some features which are simple but can be rearranged in more creative ways.

T72 is such a shitty name though. Any idea what it means? Just about everything that I can think of is a better name for a terrain park than a letter and two digits.

From the park page on the website:

"Years ago a map was created to identify all the peaks, trails, and lifts that Sunday River could one day grow to include. Everything was assigned a number, with names created only as pieces went from vision became reality. In seeking the best location for a terrain park, Sunday River brought in Snow Park Technologies to help. After touring the mountain, SPT recommended an area on North Peak for the new park. When the resort map was pulled out for reference, the area identified has already been outlined as a potential trail location and was labeled at "Trail 72". As planning turned into construction the internal name of Trail 72 became T72 as shorthand for the project, and as more people got involved the consensus was to use T72 as the park name."
