Im goin the day after christmas. Hows the park around that time and how bad are the crowds? Also is there any urban around SR?

the park is usually sick by then, they should have rocking chair up, there biggest park. hopefully the new staircase element will be up. the crowd might be kinda big but well worth it. and they have a shitload of urbans at south ridge... but good luck seshing one with all the little sunday river cops around

alright so its gettin closer to christmas and im wonderin if they will have any jumps setup? i know they are gonna be blowin snow all week but what does everyone that rides there think.

they will have jumps by then but i wouldnt expect anythin too big. If the temps stay cold they might be able to pull somethin off. alittle natural snow wouldnt hurt the team either. Barker singles line is the way to go for rocking chair park!!!

"12/17 update - Look out for an 8 element jib park on Rocking Chair this weekend and hit up the four rails at South Ridge Jib Park. Parks Manager Nick Roma says they'll keep blowing snow on Rocking Chair this week. With the right amount, they'll start making things big. Real big."

Thats what the website says but who knows. The trail has dirt spots so they are going to have to kick ass in order to get any good jumps up. They might have somethin but its not goin to be amazing. The temps are supposed to stay cold enough for snowmakin all week though with a chance for rain/snow this weekend!!

over at the south ridge baselaodge coming from the upper parking lot to the lower there are some rails that i wanna do so bad

i think ill be up from 26-30

the only urban is at soulth ridge condos, main parking lot and down near the tennis courts but they are all gnarly wood and there wont be any snow as usual

the only metal urban in all of bethel is behind the elemtry school but it sucks

sounds like they might be gettin some snow this week. If they do someone wanna let me know how much.

12/19 update - Roma and the CREW are STOKED! Word just came that snowmaking is going to be going full tilt in Rocking Chair in order to build the sickest possible park for the Holidays. That means obscene snowmaking in there then next 3 nights. The bigger the piles they can build the bigger park you will get. It's going to take some serious shaping time come Fri/Sat so official unleashing date is still up in the air...but we'll know for sure soon......thats right from the website sounds like it could be pretty dope lets hope for natural snow for urbannn

I'll be up there from the 26-30 too. It should be sick, the crowds CAN be big, but you can avoid them sometimes. Usually they have all the mountains open during xmas vaca but it doesn't seem like that's the case this year, so I don't know how packed it's gunna be. It's still totally worth it.

Oh, and like people said above me, the only urban around the mountain are the sketchy wooden handrails. You could hit the staircases that go from the top parking lot of southridge to the lower parking lot, they aren't sketchy, there's just no snow right now.

ill be there the 28th and 29th most likely skiing with michelle and whoever else shes skiing with, and ill be documenting the expirence on high fidelity media!

ill be wearin huge ass clothing biggest jacket you prolly ever see hit me up if you want

i was just there today, they were making snow in the park all day so they can get some jumps built for x-mas vacation

im either there or killy on the 26-27 def tryin to ride with some of u guys! my cousins are coming up from maryland I dont think theyre past the pizza and french fry stage of skiing

last weekend they had some aight rails, not huge, not small, so if they keep those, a coulpe bigger ones, and a money booter...now were talkin

12/21 update - One more night of full-tilt snowmaking to go in the Chair. The last two have been fairly productive and depths have increased quite a bit. The cats will be able to harvest it well come the end of the week. The date of the park building is still up in the air so stay tuned for updates. Either way she'll def be all new and larger size for the Holiday week.

To those that have been on the receiving end of the white fury while riding the quad. Sorry. But snow's gotta be made, when Mother Nature tells us snow's gotta be made. Big park, coming soon.

in srjb there was a 10 ft flat down, a slight up down, an up and a 4 ft flat box. in RC there was a down box, a c rail, two flat rails, a flat box, and that half rainbow thing
