Sun Valley

Are there any park on bald mountain? I know about dollar mountain. I'm going there next week but Im planning on staying on bald mountain

Yea, dollar is all they have, but ur pass at bald will work when you go over to dollar, just hope one of the numerous buses, (i think its the silver line from warm springs side) that run for free Over to dollar. beware, the park goes straight from their tiny small line to the biggest most intimidating jumps and rails with no in between. Its a shame their season has gone to shit, because their backcountry is pretty fun if you know where ur going, thats all i skied with my brothers over xmas break this year.

Dollar closed and there is no park now but baldy has some sick double cats and tree jobs gaps and tuns of tranny finds and more if you know the mountain

The park really needs to be on Baldy, for various reasons, but especially since dollar closes weeks before Baldy. prime time park skiing cut short

The problem is that most of the terrain on baldy is too steep for an actual park. The only run they could potentiality put a park on would be lower river run, but there's too much skier traffic on such a narrow run to fit a park there.

dollar is closed. i believe baldy closes in the next few days as well, could be wrong tho. not much snow but they do a really good job of moving snow around.

Dollar closed last weekend and Baldy will be done on Sunday. Back to the debate if there could be a park on baldy. Yes there should be. Namely on Seattle Ridge. The pitch would be prefect and plenty of room. The problem is, skiers at Sun Valley are OLD. The Average skier age is 55 that is old as dirt compared to most mountains. Lets just say not very park friendly.

Tru, they didn't even have a park at all until about 6 years ago.

Lower River is WAAAYYY too flat for anything except rails, so obviously not.

You are spot on, not very park friendly indeed. Seattle Ridge would be an amazing location (namely Broadway and Lower Christin's Silver/ Byron's Park) but that'll never happen. But I'm sure somewhere among their 60+ runs they could find something suitable. Having the park on the "kiddie hill" (Dollar) is one of the biggest problems, and pretty unsafe.

Couldn't agree more I've always thought Seattle ridge is perfect for a main park and they could put some smaller rail parks and shit all over on river run, college warm springs and more but keep some big big stuff on dollar for mostly park skiers but sun valley has to be shitty and hate park and procrastinate getting it.

With Earl Holdings dead and Carol close to it. I would guess that in the next few years we will see a new owner coming into play. Aspen Co just started construction on a new hotel in Ketchum so I am putting money on Aspen making a play. When this goes down you will see and shift from owners that are more focused in the Hotel Hospitality to that of an ownership group that is Snow Based. The Holdings could care less if the mountain was profitable. All they wanted was a place for there 1% friends to come and play. Not that Aspen group is any better... But they understand how to bring in a youth driven market. Next few years should be interesting.
