Sun Valley keeping it fresh

Sun Valley Park Manegement has decided to keep it fresh by swapping out the rail line and kicking up the jumps. We want it to be fresh month by month. We plan on having it ready for the slopestyle on the 4th of February. Our goal is presidents weekend for completion of the rail swap. Watching everyone go deep on the jumps tells me we are ready to kick them back and make them bigger. We want them to be legit for the upcomming slopestyle.

adding more jumps to the line? of just making them bigger? are you talking all the rails or just the two that are above the jumps

We are probally going to kick the jumps up monday night and we plan on moving some rails around after that. We have a pipe comp this friday and saterday though.

that would be sick if you somehow got a third jump in there. maybe in place of the down rail or something

well we will be there for our first runs through it Tuesday. hope to see some baller shit to determine if a season pass will be bought

went skiing at dollar the other day and I can honestly say that I was not impressed. The main jump line is comprised of two tables that boot you decently high with lips about 10 feet up but they are maybe 40 feet. The first and second jump are basically carbon copies of each other so variation is out.

also I heard rumors they were going to push them back a bit but with where they are on the mountain it seems that speed will become a major issue even if pushed back slightly. Their location on the mountain also seems like it may be very difficult to get a 3rd jump in the line period.

The rails have a nice variation but they are all very short and there is no way to hit all of them you have to choose between 1 line or the other.

While all that is said the jumps were nicely built and maintained, the rails were not very sticky, and the landings were long. It would just be nice to see some variation such as a few different types of jumps like step ups, hips all that and some longer rails with a line that really flows.

I also know that this is their first year building a park there and experimentation is needed I just went into it expecting something a little different.

Still had fun though!

plus you cunt muscle that review was fine. That park is def no colorado, ut, or cali park but i didnt say it was shitty just could use some variety.

Sun Valley has to catch up to a 15 year head start. Our rail line is going to be swaped out to make it a 6 pack soon, and our jumps are going to get bigger, we are just waiting for the right day to do it for the least amount of impact. This year is our test run to see how everything works out. The double line will get better as the year progresses and we want to introduce some better mediem parks to have loads of fun in and that will be up soon. Our realistic goal for all of this is for the first of Feb,when we have our first slope style. Thanks for comming up to check out the parks though, like the feedback. That is what makes it better, knowing what works and doesnt.

as far as being no colorado or cali, I am from colorado coming from breck and our builder is from cali coming from mammoth so this is exaclty what they have in terms of style of features, like I said, they had a 15 year head start. We will be building 20 rails a year and Smith is building a signiture feature and giving us their limo(mayby) and Red Bull is building us a feature and everything they do is insane. The future looks bright here at Sun Valley.

yeap i understand and was not talking shit by all means and I def understand its the first season and experimenting needs to be done I was just simply stating my impression after hearing about it and then finally skiing it. I was very impressed on the size of the jumps for early in the season! I was just stating variety is awesome and I wasnt sure how the double line could get bigger because we had some speed issues.

build me a 100 foot step up! haha

Fuck yeah its good that you guys can see the rider level and adjust the park as necessary to suit them. I wish this was happening back when I was in high school, there are going to be a lot more crazy riders coming out of Sun Valley in the next couple of years and its going to be great to see. Pretty stoked for my next trip home...hopefully there will be an 80 footer on dollar face.

word up! i felt the same way on alot of things, i thought the rail line could have been switched up alil. i spent most of my time in the progression park( not really a big park skier and am trying to improve) but i would like it to be able to hit rails and the jumps in one run i realize space is limited over there. all in all i think this is so fuckin cool i'm really stoked that my home mountain has a good park and keep it up!!
