Summer time

What would everyone like to see the shop do in the summer? Of course, we aren't going to start selling rollerblades. But is there anything you might like to see there?

'Of course!!! Why wouldn't a ski shop sell patio furniture in the summer ! It... makes... perfect.... sense?'

And just so conservatives don't take it to heart
I don't think Bush did it cause he isn't that smart.

How about we all buy end of sesason purchases, so that Josh can keep the rent paid on the store over the summer, and wait for Jibij to reopen in August.

josh, you should try to set up a couple jibij demo days at a-basin in may or june or something. thinking of what to do with a ski shop in the summer is a tough question.

I might be able to do something like that. Problem is, we're selling out of the demos since most of the skis on the wall are sold out. I might be able to do a demo of next years skis though. That would be sick.

If, in theory, I were to open a summer camp, would any of you go?

i would definately go if it wasnt a ton of money, and it wasnt too hard to get to. it would be sick as aids if you could do a camp at the basin in late may/june or something like that.

casual culture in carbondale sells snowboards, skate decks, and smoking accessories. but that might not please the parents of your younger clientele.

a camp might be a good idea, depending on how much you'd have to charge and how long it would last. it would probably be hard to run a camp for multiple days because of commuting and stuff, and it would have to be mostly local people (i could be wrong though)

there are all sorts of territorial issues and contracts tied up with skate shoes. that market is already pretty well covered by meta and satellite.

dude casual culture is awsome, and a camp or a demo day would be way sick, id be down for sure, and im not sure a biking thing, like urban club or wut that dude said, would work, cuz most bikers are alreddy in with other pplaces

hold up bagwell just took a massive shit in the hall

for this i will go about barefoot and nake, i will howl like a jackal and mourn like an ostrich micah 1:8

We aren't going to do bike stuff, there's too much inventory to buy, and I don't want to interfere with what those guys at THE FIX are doing. I'm not sure what will happen yet with a camp, there are some issues with the forest service to work through. If we didn't have an official camp, would anyone still be interested in a sort of 'private coaching' with the team. It would basically be a camp, just the resort wouldn't be involved.

id go to a camp in june! a-basin would be so down with that too, a-basin is by far the coolest place in the front range as far as the people who in it go.

If you asked a-basin they might let u maintain some features in their park in the summer, of course there is always liability involved and building stuff is hard and nobody wants to go up there everyday. but still we could a good park till july and have a really kick ass unnofficial summer camp!

Well, we're one step closer. They've agreed to do it. I still have to figure out how much it will cost, but it will for sure be cheaper than going to whistler.

Ok, it looks like everything is on track. I just need to figure out all the costs so I can know how much it will be. We will create different packages. With/without lodging, etc.

i think the camp is a killer idea, but that means the store would be closed right? if it's open, look into carrying stuff related to freerunning. if you haven't heard of it, check out www.urbanfreeflow.com .. I've done it for a year now and it's addictive. Only problem is that there's not a lot of stuff to sell, shoes, and clothes really, but you might get sponsorship from some of the websites around to sell their stuff.
