where can i get some cheap ass astro turf in maine. i want to make a summer set up but im broke because i just spent all my money on a white water rafting trip.
 
Here is some advice, when I was like 14 or 15 and had no money, my friend and I made a great discovery, the town dump. You live in Maine so I am assuming you town or a surrounding town has a dump. Usually, every dump has an area for used building materials. The dump has to pay to get rid of these materials, so chances are if you are super nice to the guys working at the dump and you talk to them, you can take stuff from this area. That being said, you can find tons of wood that you can use for rails and boxes. You most likely will not find that nice green turf that you are looking for, however you will probably be able to find thin carpet. It will not be as fast, but with some ingenuity and hard work, you will have some turf for free. You will either need a steeper drop in or you will need to build some ribs under the turf so that you have fewer contact points for your skis on the turf.
