Last summer, got a bunch of snow from the local arena... the zamboni even started dumping it right in our trailer for us. Anyway after about 5 hours, we had enought snow to lead us down to our box and rail we had set up.

I know, I'm pathetic. Here are my excuses:

None of my mates out here are good enough to ski backcountry and I don't know Valle Nevado at all well. Personally I think it's pretty dumb to ride backcountry on your own anywhere but especially where you don't know the terrain. I need to try and meet some locals who can show me around. Has anyone who has skied at VN put me in touch with anyone who can show me around?

Until I meet locals I'm gonna be sticking to the park (hopefully meet some there)

 
I skied today in Cerro Catedral, argentina. Some serious hardpack there, shitty rental skis, but skiing in august feels good. And I forgot my passport at the rental place. Kinda sucks im just travelling with my dad in argentina, and this is the only day ill get to ski, and theres ppl carrying skis and boards everywhere, but ill come back sometime cuz las lenas has some serious bc some dude from whistler told me...

Hard pack in las lenas?? Seriously? Sorry to boast but conditions in Valle Nevado couldn't be better, they've had an excellent season and there's heavy snow forecast for the next few days. I definitely want to make a trip to las lenas but i'm working in santiago so can't get away for too long, maybe at the start of next season before I head back to the UK.
