Ok, i really want to try some actual jumps this summer, but has anyone ever made a ramp to get up some speed? What should you use to make a good skiing surface on the ramp?

i heard that carpet and alot of soap works good. it probally wont get you enough speed for a jump, but good for a rail

what the heck is that material that the English ski on? Its like some sort of plastic netting or something, isnt it? Does that fake grass stuff work?

carpet and soap doesnt work at all. Buy a slip and slide and lay it on a hill.

Indoor outdoor carpet (it's like astroturf) just her wet and she's ready to go!

I'm as close to god as you'll ever get....

i wanna do that too...make a summer rail in my backyard..

Whats the most important factor in winning a halfpipe competition?

we used astro turf on a big piece of plywood on some cinder blocks, and got some snow from an ice skating rink. the astroturf does a good job of holding the snow in place, and works pretty well even after the snow's melted and its just wet.

Word up to all the subie owners out there!

OR just make street skis like sean said earlier in a different thread. i just made mine today. got get some skateboard 'trucks' or whatever the hell they are called and screw them onto the skis. it works hella good. sean and i are going to video tape it and post it probably next week or the week after. or you can just do some summer skiing/jibbing with us. you know sean's #

what you need is a fucking set of hotwheels, glue, and a pair of skis. that way you can glue the hotwheels to the top of the skis so they will look pretty.

any fate questions or orders, let me know.

use indoor outdoor carpet. I have a rail set-up that i do like every day. you can get it at a hardware store and its not expensive at all like $.32 american per square foot. water helps it slide best, but it's not that important.
