Summer skiing in the alps

I was just wondering which resorts had summer skiing and how it is? I assume that the snow would still be somewhat alright (wed be there around june 20th). Basically my brother and i have some time between other things to travel for a few days and we were thinking of skiing at least one day. How much would we expect to pay for a day? (I guess wed have to rent as well) and what are various ski areas like? Parks/pipes, runs, snow, area, scenery...pros/cons.

In other words if you could ski one day at one resort in june, which one would it be (doesnt really matter which country either)

thanks for the help

thanks for that web link...zermatt looks pretty sick. I was there last summer but didnt get a chance to ski....it looks like it has alot of potential. Anyone else have any more info on other resorts?

oh and anyone know anything about portes du soleil? Ive heard its amazing in the winter, do they have summer skiing at all?

thanks

any more info on these resorts in austria? How much area is skiable, parks, etc? or is there a european equivalent of this site at all? Preferably in english

thanks

the dachstein glacier has a very nice park sponsored by burton.. i dont really how long the resort is opened i only know its not the entire summer. there are some really nice freeride spots too. but the park is def a highlight.

on www.snowparkguide.com you can view some of the parks .. some pics of the burton park are listed under "schladming"

the B.A.S.E. park in Sölden is quite nice too..its on that website too

in JUNE forget Zermatt and Les 2 Alpes because the parks only open at the end of June. They do have the sickest parks. Zermatt is the only one that can offer winter riding in the middle of summer, because it's so high (3899m and the whole park is above 3500m) it just keeps snowing all summer long.

Les Diablerets closes at the beginning of May.

For June I would probably look into Engelberg (Iceripper), Garmisch-Partenkirchen (Zugspitze), Kaunertal, Dachstein, etc.. if they are open then, they are pretty sick.

There's only one European site like this, probably a lot bigger than this one, but it's in French (www.skipass.com) and it's skiers and snowboarders together (like it should be). www.twoleftfeet.ch is more similar to newschoolers.com but it's more of a dating site than a skiing/snowboarding site hahaha.

oh yeah Portes du Soleil closes end of April, there's no skiing on the glacier that mountain is in a national park or something.

Hej man i heard that glacier3000 wont be open this summer?? Im getting crazy u know if its true?? Cause normally it will be open from June right??

Hey man, like I posted on the Dutch website...

Glacier3000 skilifts and the park closes end of April, just like last year. Shaper crew takes over Zermatt the whole summer (July + August). So if you want the Diablerets experience, head to Zermatt.

Glacier3000 just stays open for tourists who wanna see the panorama, take a walk on the glacier, etc...

Diablerets will open again next autumn, as soon as there's enough new snow.

GUYS GUYS calm down..Glacier3000 will be open for sure this summer..there also will be a few camps !! it was closed last summer coz of too less snow !I live 10 min away from that glacier so trust me i know it ! its open POINT.

oh wait not point if u have questions ask me

if u live only 10 minutes away u should get your facts right.

it was closed last summer b/c it went bankrupt.

about next summer:

Téléskis sur le Glacier

En hiver: tous les jours jusqu'au 30 avril 2006

En automne: dès la mi-octobre, Snowpark et téléskis (sous réserve de l'enneigement).

dunno how they will organize camps if Demonium AND the shapers are all in Zermatt. Maybe I'm wrong I should check again with Dim and Dre (Demonium).

It would be sweet if they could open before the summer, in May or June, I'd definitely be there. But Dre told me it will not happen.

hey michael, are you the same person as the dude on ultimate-snowboarding.com? i didn't knew you lived in switzerland, you lucky bastard :p

ok thanks for the replies, these are the type of things i am looking for, since i really have no idea where to go..i guess ill have to look at individual resorts as far as opening/closing dates.

\Thanks

well thats right they got bankrupt but one of my friends dad is the new investor and she is a skier too so it was her who told me there is a camp dont think its demonium camp! but it is open..thats it :)
