summer ski idea

hey, I had this great (could turn out to be really stupid) idea for some summer skis! Take some old crappy skis, i'll probably use my homemade twin tips, and bolt on some skateboard trucks on the bottom. Have the trucks real loose so they lean/turn a lot. then you can ski down the street and just lean to turn! you could put tennis balls on some poles like rollerbladers do!

No car is better than a Subaru!!!
 
yeah i have a pair of those skies/roller blade thinger ma bobers...not so good for trying to get air

Take em down that hill at the ballard locks, the one thats really wavy and then go flying into the water, thatd be the shit.

 
beats me, you could just spray a little wd-40 on the wheels so they'd be a little slippy, and just do a hockey stop like on skis. or tip over i guess

You'd be undressed by concrete in a matter of seconds. I'll stick to the 'skis on top of a skateboard to PVC on the grass' method.

nobodys gonna die, it's no different than rollerskating. in fact it's probably more safe cause you can't tip forward or back.

what you should do is get freeboard bindings, that way they would have wide trucks so it would turn like skis, and it would have the swivel wheel so you can stop like on skis.!!! i am so smart

 
see once you go down the hill just keep goin until you loose enough speed to turn to slow down to stop. start on little hills and work your way up. yeah thats a good idea to go down the hill by the ballard locks, but aren't there old train tracks all over the road there?

thats not how you summer ski! go to marcs, buy two scooters, rip the handle bars off, and there you go! Put one foot on each scooter and holer the steering coloum thing like you would your poles. it feels exactly like skiing. you really cant do tricks though.

 
someone should really set up an urbane jib in seattle, like go get snow, so many people would come, yea, someone with a truck shold go get snow andeveryone could meet at the rail and it would be fun.,

I lost alot of skin on my face this season on snow. Second degree burns and a scar on the inside of my mouth that's gonna be there for a few years. I would hate to see what pavement would have done.

 
...I forgot to add. Check out the archived movies at www.sasfilms.com and there is a movie of Neil and Chris doing some off season railage. They used snow from a Hockey Rink. Great site for anyone who doesn't already know.
