Summer setup idea

I'm lazy so I haven even tried this yet but I want to make a summer setup spending very little or no money. I have a pretty big hill in my yard and I was wondering, if I threw some cardboard down, build a ramp with scrap wood and covered it in more card board or plastic, then set up a PVC rail that my friend already has would it be rideable?

its everywhere, and a lot of people use it for their set-ups and its fast as fuck, including me.

that will really work on grass? whelp, I beleive you so I'll throw you some karma and try it out

Exactly this unless you can "borrow" some artificial turf from somewhere.

here's a picture of it right on grass in action, not the best photo, and the fence stolen was green, but its the same thing.

his kicker is made of wood? wont that destroy your skis? and will you even slide on straight wood? It's obvious im new at this

the fence goes right up and over the wood, just hard to see, bad screenshot. looks like just wood but you just roll the fence right over it and its perfect.

gotcha, I'll check that out. and just for laughs ill probably get bored one day and try out the cardboard too lol

A friend of mine lined tarp down a hill and used a skateboard ramp. Lined the rail up at the end, and he had his summer setup. I cut 2 inch diameter PVC pipe down the middle, and put it horizontally down my ramp. I made the kicker out of turf though.

Day 1: spent an hour or two trying to make it work. Cardboard didn't give me enough speed and I tried making the kicker three different times and I broke it every time. My friend is going to buy a plastic kicker and were going to use roll tenax. Pretty disappointed I really didn't even come close but at least ill still have a setup.

heres what the first draft looked like

wow that is sketchy but from your video is looks like it works

well in the video it was only one piece of cardboard, one ski so less weight. today i made my first rail and kicker, the rail looks great (althrough i couldnt use it today) and the kicker broke 3 times

That look sick, but I would be worried about how long it would last. You would have to pack it up after each use and make sure it stays dry, which could be a problem with hitting some PVC rails as they slide really bad when they are dry

Defo try to steal some lattice tho. It would be much faster, less visible and last for aaaages.

I never officially wrote out the results of this so here i goes: the test run only worked because I only used one ski so there was a not less weight. The setup pictured didn't work because I had to jump from another platform and use poles to get speed and I still didn't have enough to get air off the kicker which ended up snapping under my huge 100 lbs every time.
