Summer Set Up Help

I have a deck that is 3 and a half feet off the ground. My lawn slopes down slightly after it.

I plan on making a strong wooden board type thing and simply leaning it up against the edge of the deck. This will be my drop in.

I want to know if the 3.5 ft deck is tall enough for a drop in to a ten foot pvc rail thats like a foot or so off the ground. I will be using green turf, water and soap.

Also, how wide should the board be? I'm like 5'5.

Also, do they sell that green turf stuff at Home Depot or do I have to order it online somewhere?

Thanks + karma

should be high enough just give your self enough room to pole push a few times to gain speed. green indoor outdoor carpet can be found at home depot too. construction fence may be good too. i have never used it though so i am not too sure

i used to have one about 3 ft high with a slope after it and it worked alright, then i made one that was 4.5 ft tall and its good. Home Depot is good as ^ said. My board is about 3 ft wide. My first one was about 18", but it was hard to stay on. the drop in can be skinnier than the take off. Sounds sick. Post a pic when you are done.

Sweet, I'm also thinking that the board thing might slip off the edge of the deck but I don't really think my parents would want the thing to actually nailed to the deck. Any ideas on how to attach it but not physically, maybe so slits or something?

rope it down or make some cuts in it so it is flush with your deck. Or you could put supports on it and use your deck as a platform.
