This summer I'm doing it again but also doing some software development for a local company.

A couple of my friends have been rafting guides in Montana the past couple of summers (I couldn't since I'm not 18 yet).

I would really love to get a cool, fun job, but they don't pay well. So I have a meh job that gets me $29/hr 40 hours a week. It's pretty much the only way I can make it through college without massive loans, so that makes it more enjoyable.

o ya im looking for a job working with nature cuz im a bio major if anyone has suggestions. or just a cool job that pays okay.

i'd take a "shit-tastic job" for 29/hr. thats absolutely insane, making what, 1160 a week - taxes? so for the summer, making over 10gs? i made $2000 last summer tops working 40 a week. this summer, i'm looking for 60 hours a week and i'll only get $5000 absolute tops. and i'm bouta work in a hospital and a camp if i'm lucky.

but i guess you have to pay for school so that kinda sucks (assuming thats all going to your education)

props on that though

Breeding corn for genetic resarch

get paid $10/hr plus bonususes

often go overtime which =1 1/2 normal wage

OT on sunday equals 3 times wage.....

sweet huh????

i work at a golf course, gettin around 4000 summer. its sick cuz you can do whatever whenever you want and since its so big(like most courses) you never run into your boss so we just smoke all the time, passes the time

That's a kick ass job for sure. I really want to work at a golf course or bike shop or something fun like that.

i was a drafter for Carver Pump... got paid $200 a week to come in for 3 hours 3 days a week and draw parts in AutoCAD.... it was the most ballin job ever

best buy- all year long they gave me a month off this winter to go ski- not a bad job 4 17 yrs old- discount is rediculous too- skullcandy heshs for 19 dollars- skullcrushers for 32

ive had a couple of really good summer jobs. one year i worked maintenance at this pretty expensive summer camp. its more like a resort for kids...muskoka woods for anyone who is in ontario. when i had days off i had access to all the equipment like mountain bikes. that was fun, but not much money.

last summer i worked as a lifeguard at a pool near my home, so i could get paid to sit around and swim while doing the job.

this summer though i'm going to scotland to work in a pub which should be awesome, pay isn't great but the experience matters.

i got a sick job, i work across from fenway park at twins souvenirs pretty chill i dont really have to do much and on breaks i can go into the game

well i was all excited when i saw this thread cause i was gonna reply with my kickass job but you already summed it up basically. i work at a private cc in the bag room, washing clubs, driving carts, and picking the range. best job i've ever had. all we do is smoke, dick around, listen to ipods, and rake in mad tips. i am gonna be so sad when its time to enter the real world. fuck i wish i could be in my teens forever

i set up tents and shit all summer. The company i worked for does like all the tents and event arrangements for the super bowl and shit so i was going to go to AZ for winter break and work but decided to chill instead. Made $8 an hr. Worked 50ish hrs a week. time and a half for the overtime. made almost 6gs in taxable wages....too bad the gov took hella tho....it was hard work but it paid off. Also got to go on a trip out of town and made $750 in a week, basically sat around the whole time.

yeeea man im guiding for 3 months again this summer cant fuckin wait. just chill on the river all summer, go kayaking, party hard, good tips, and the opportunities to hook up with hot tourists just never end.

for the last 2 summers i've worked at a fancy restaurant doing valet parking. its the best job i've ever had, all i do is sit around, shoot the shit with the guy i work with, read books or magazines, and occasionally park mercedes, bmws, and bentleys. its sick. plus the pay is decent, and tips can be in excess of 75 bucks some nights.

and the best part is i don't really have hours, i just show up around 5 and leave when the last car leaves. sometimes thats after 12am, sometimes its around 9. i get paid the same no matter what, so sometimes its good and sometimes its bad. mostly good. oh ya and i get to order off the menu for free every night.

i really doubt this shit... my parents barely make that much and they have 4 year degrees in the medical field...

why dont u just fuck college and do what ur doing u could easily live off that...

Its not all that unbelievable. I know companies like Apple and Microsoft pay their interns about 25 an hour. Their salaried positions are even more than that.

I work on part of a superfund cleanup site. People in the Silver Valley like to dump mine tailings in their yards, so we go around and replace the top 12" or so with new dirt to make it "safe." It's pretty much landscaping with a hazmat license, so I get paid a lot more. You don't have to believe me if you don't want to, it's super hard to get the job anyway.

And why don't I do it the rest of my life? Well, there's several reasons. First and foremost, I don't want to be operating a shovel and rake 6-7 months as my job because it sucks and my body won't be able to do it forever. Secondly, there's a limited number of yards to do, so when we run out I'd just be a high school graduate who knows how to dig a hole. And lastly, I have to live in Kellogg, Idaho to do it. It's cool being at the bottom of Silver Mountain and everything, but the people there are....different.

my dad never went to college and makes that much, working construction. it's definitely possible to make that much doing labor. but you can't really think you can do that for the rest of your life cause my dad's back is so fucked.

I'm working at Pfizer again this summer (provided I pass my drug test, fingers crossed), they are a HUGE corporation. Should pull in about $8-10k this summer.

pipeline labourer 28.50 an hour 65-90 hrs a week 150$ a day tax free living allowance clear around 2500-3000 a week

I am 20 didn't go to college and have 5 employees which I make about 5 an hour off each and bill 45 an hour for myself. Mebbe your parents should move, or find better jobs.

i stand around in a little box called a cashwrap in sears, making minimum wage trying to make a little extra by essentially ruining people's credit. fun fun fun

i teach sailing in maine it sounds kinda gay but its super legit. all the kids i teach with are homies and we basicaly drive motorboats around get tan, and teach kids how to sail

june 19th starts my navy career. starting at like 1300 a month but thats for e-1 but i'll probably start as e-2 so it will be a little more. then the rate goes up with rank and time.

cutting fibreglass in a snowboard factory--$11/hour full time. all in all it was meh but at least I was head of the small parts department.

i'm just goignt o wrok my pimp game like always. that is how i get my money, and you should look into the buisiness because stocks ore off the charts! time to invest in P.I.M.P. inc. tellin ya the best way to go these days.
