i work for a plumber, i make $8 an hour plus free food and minimum wage where i live is $5.15

non-union laborer. it's hard work, but it pays well. you'll learn a lot your first year in the field, just remember that sky hooks don't exist, and you can use an acetelyne torch as a glass bender.

i'm 17 and i'm getting certified as a lifeguard so i can lifeguard this summer. $8.50/hr starting just to sit in a chair and then play games with kids in the pool? sounds good to me.
