Summer job: caddying

I plan on going to my local course and asking for a job as a caddy. For those that do it or have done it, how much did you make over the summer? and anything in particular i should know other than basic golf ettiquite?
 
dude just get a job at the course. fuck caddying, carts have made them obsolete basically. the club i work at used to have caddies busy all the time and now all they do is just hang around and wait for them to get called which never happens. working in the bag room is dope as shit, you still get the tips, get to dick around on carts, and hit balls on the range at night when everyone's gone.
 
dude i hated caddying so fucking much it was horrible...the golf course i was at the people were all dicks, and need needed ego checks.

this one guy i caddied was the local news host and swaggered around thinking he was the shit. When i finnaly caddied for him and whenever he made a bad shot he blamed it on me half the time(when i wasnt doing anything wrong)...he always refered to himself in the third person and had to be the center of attention always. After the round was over he gave me a $2 tip (i ussually got about 22ish and made 13 baserate, about 35 per round) laughed at me and walked away. so i talked to my boss and he made him give me 25 cuz apperently he has a history of doing that to caddies.

so after about 3 years i quit this summer. the money was good but i hated it.
 
Yeah most people who use caddies at the nice courses are all rich dicks, I hated it. Working at a local course is fine most of the time as long as you don't caddy.
 
yea they have cart guys now who bring up the carts and carry old peoples bags to and from the cars, that what ima be doing hopefully, alot of ass kissing though but whatever gets the billz
 
yea i agree with most people who replied to this. all the guys would probably be little stuck up bitches, but its definitely worth the money, i think you make around 80-100 dollars each round which ususally takes 6-7 hours i think
 
thats what i do. ive been doing it for like 5 years now... probably about time to stop cause i think im the oldest one this summer which is lame. sick job, though
 
same with me man its pretty simple, dont try and do the whole you should use the 5 iron shit, you wouldnt know the guy well enough to do that, just tell him how far away the pin is (should be markers) carry around his shit and make sure you dont get in his way or piss him off in any way, then you get madd tips its a sick job like 60 bucks a round for my course 140 for two bags
 
its good... esp. if you get one of the wayyy rich guys that tip you a bunch.... being a little bitch/brown noser can help get you huge tips i know a guy that did that
