Hi NSers!

I the help of you fellows who now about video cameras because I'd like to buy a camera that is not too expensive and that still has good filming abilities. I'd be looking for something that turns around 500-600 can$. It would be very appreciated to have your suggestions with the specs and/or some arguments.

Thanks a bunch.

^thanks,

and for the hdfx1, go to hell damn, this is one of my dream cameras but it's WAY too expensive for me!

go to cnet if you want in depth camera reviews, or search media and arts a little harder. if You're not spending 2000 then just buy the cheapest camera you can find. In a year you'll want a better camera.

i think that u should just save up like 300 bucks more and get either a vx1000 or a trv900 on ebay

if not then get a panasonic 3ccd cam

I already have the cheapest camera and it sucks. I don't have a loose 2000$ either (I ain't rich).

I'll consider the choice that Sean said. I'll check it out.

OOooh yeah since you can't spell HDV without HDV so it MUST be good! Just like how you can't spell crap without rap/end shittalk.

You really want to save up. I did and I am really happy I did, for two years I used a crapy sony camera, worked hard for two summers and with my savings got a gl2 off of criegs list. You really should just save up and get some thing nice, And i am not talking about a DVX or HVX just a VX2000, VX2100, gl1 or gl2.

^So do you think that those cameras are in good conditions? (they look good but they aren't very expensive). I know that they record on small tapes(miniDV I think), but do they have a usb wire or something to put the video on a pc?

Way to expensive for this kid.But there really good cameras for the price.3 of my friends have them, way better then a GL.

But umm..whoever was looking for a cheap but good camera.Just get the Panasonic GS-400.Its a 3ccd camera, ive filmed and edited a few clips from this camera and the quality is awsome for how low the price is.

I wasnt trying to sound like a douch bag.I was just tellin the kid straight up.But ya I just noticed the kid who said that is the kid who made the thread...and now i feel retarded I said that to him.Cause I thought he was a kid who knew something about cameras, but if he was he would have never made this post.

Look, I'm 18 allright? I don't think you should be calling me a kid. You probably know more about cameras than I do because it just isn't my big interest. I film pretty often, but with a real shitty camera and that's why I would like something that is good.

Alright dude...sorry we dont know everyones age on here, but anyways.I told u what camera to get.The Panasonic GS-400.Its the cheapest ccd camera out there but its not like it sucks. The quality is really really good on it and its good for how much money you want to spend.Once you buy the camerea you can get a handle for it and a mini death fish eye lense(century optics makes them) and it will be an awsome camera for filming whatever you want to film.

If you want to find out more info on cameras by people who actually know alot about them go on skateperception.com and go into the messageboard.

Ya im pretty sure that model has the attachment clip so that u can either get a handle, light,or microphone on it.If not you can always make your own handle. There instructions on how to make a handle on skate perception.

Looks like a really nice camera... but it's 1150 can$! And I wanted something for like 600$... anyways I'll check it out

Ahh I thought you ment US dollers.

With like 600 canadian dollers I would think one of the cannon ZR serious would be around that price in canada.Check one of those out, there good starter cameras but the quality is no where near as good as it is on the gs400.

Yeah Panasonic makes great camera's for your money if you want a cheaper, but still nice camera...i just got a Panasonic GS-300 for like $600 and it is 3CCD (which means great image quality) I was also looking at the GS-500 ($800) model and even the guy in the store said that it really isn't much better than the GS-300 model except that it has a better manual focus. Go for the GS-300
