Suggestions for pow skis

so i've come to the point in my life where i will be doing less park and beginning to do more backcountry skiing. im not to sure if you need soft or stiff skis. i am almost 6 feet tall, 150 lbs. i am an aggresive skier can ski anything really. oh and i a, looking for something around 100 mm underfoot.

thanks for all your help

this years Jp/Julian from armada is sick and is 103 i think. Prophet 100 from Line is ok also or just get some seths

it not supper stiff but still soft. They ride great in pow and don't chatter at speeds from what I tryed. and you can still butter them with a little effort. They are also nice and light so you just float. I was getting sum but needed something wider but i'm sure you would love them. and next years have a little rocker in them

I've heard Moment Rubys are good but a little soft, the line mothership next year is 110 waist but super stiff. I would go with the JJs if I were you. Do you know what bindings your getting?

well next year i'm getting ep pros and Marker Jesters. They are light and have a bunch of diff. break sizes. I would go with them but if you are skinning then go with the dukes. Or even Marker 14 frees which is what i'm rocking now

too bad marker frees suck balls.

you said you want to do backcountry, so my guess would be that you need an alpine touring binding no? or you could get some alpine trekkers..

what do you currently ski on? what skis do you like? what skis dont you like? where do you ski?

cant really give a suggestion without that information..

do you even have avy training? any knowledge of the bc? i would put that first before your gear..my best guess is you have no clue what consists of a safe bc trip..provide more info so people can give you an informed reccomendation.

dont just listen to people who say "ohh this ski is the best cause i like it".

i like them more than any other binding i've tryed. imo they are way better then something like a px12

depends on what type of stuff your gonna be doing, if its just jibbing around then ep pro's would be amazing. or something like arg's would be so amazing for more charging and jibbing.
if you dont want reverse camber then id reccomend mabye some live life 2's i got some thinking they would be super soft cause thats what they kinda make them sound like. but they are still stiff as hell, like ive had gottoma's and maidens and they are stiffer than both. but they are easily the best bc, jump skis ive tried, they are very light and you can just tell that they are made for jumping, i like using them on park jumps more than any park skis ive had.

like i said before i am just starting out, and this is just suggestions for next year. i dont have any avy training but i will take a course next year. i live in edmonton so im close to the rockies and i sometimes go to whistler. right now i have rossi ghettos, and i like the flex on those. i dunno which words to say because im unfamilar with the terms but i will probally be doing mostly bc booters and cliffs. not sure if its called freeriding or what.

ya man np I figured you were new to the whole bc stuff with the opening topic but ya I would realy take a class next season to be safe

yea definetly, my brother is into it all and he needs someone to go with so ill probally be his partner. he has all the gear so i know all the basic stuff there is.

answer the above question for a better answer than "jesters" from someone who hasn't even ridden them.

are you bootpacking? (any burly binding)

or are you skinning sidecountry? (dukes)

or are you skinning once or twice a year? (trekkers)
