Suggestions for a good warm jacket

Hey, I am looking to buy a good warm winter ski jacket (not a shell) but I am not too familiar with some of the brands out there. If you could name some good jackets it would be very much appreciated.

but seriously im not sure, ive only ever worn shells and with a long sleeve T, a T on top and a think sweatshirt ive been fine

i think theres a DC down jacket with a tall fit. not sure what its called tho.
