Suggestion - time delay on posts

I've seen some other forums that prevent blitzing, double posting (like the post whoring that happens here by 'accident'), etc.. via a time restriction on posting.

The way it works is it records the time of your last post, and will not allow another post for a minimum of 30 or 60 seconds.

This means a legitimate poster has time to type numerous messages, and is not inconvenienced, but someone who just wants to double post or blitz the board like yesterday will have to take a fair amount more effort.

Just a suggestion...

 
that'd be cool. but how do you double post its happened to me aa few times is it just that you click twice or what?

^^I think that's kind of my point (not sure if we're on the same page here or not, but I think so..).

If you figure:

1) You type your reply/post/whatever

2) You click on the old 'Reply' button

3) page reloads to show the posting

4) you think up your next brilliant ideas to share with the rest of ns.com

5) you navigate to either a new post or hit reply again

6) you type the above mentioned brilliant idea

7) you once again hit the 'Reply' button.

I'm having a hard time seeing how anyone can get steps 3-7 done in under 30 seconds....the only examples I've seen are largely becuase they remove # 4 from the equation to save time....and that's exactly what leads to the crazy post-whoring and board slamming.

I also agree with whoever suggested removing the post count...no sense rewarding people for filling up the boards with double posts..

and you accidently double post by hitting back to the 'newschoolers.com/../../...../...PostReply.htm' and refreshing that page. i've done it a few times.
