Sugarloaf in january 18-24

Planning on booking a trip to sugarloaf maine on january 18-24 can anyone tell me what the ski condition will be like...?

will they have a decent amount of snow or no?

It's a crapshoot honestly. You're probably looking at icy conditions due to being at the tail end of the January thaw which normally happens about then. The mountain might be fully open, might not - depends on how snowy early winter is this year. This is just my best guess judging from the recent years. Late February - March is generally their best time and get dumped on/when they get the most snow.

If I were you I would wait until late February/early March, since that's usually when the snow is at least solid and the weather tends to be nicer, at least with my experiences. It's always a pretty big risk planning this far ahead of time though; I'd wait to see how the winter is before booking, and see if there are any big storms blowing in, etc.

Agreed, January can be good but theres a lot better coverage by Feb/March. February seems to get the best storms these last few years!

After the people that j am taking the trip with, with college and work it seems like that's the only week we can take off. We live in maryland and ski at ski liberty and try to go to seven sorings a couple times a year. So the date is set will we still have fun at sugarloaf in January 18-24
