Sugarloaf 2013-2014

yup, went up Monday with patrol and then skinned up again into the glade. The new stuff is awesome, the hike is meh. The best way in is to start at the bottom of king pine and head east through the run out glades, then begin skinning upwards, hugging left into the new terrain. The traverse is long and you don't really AT much, maybe 1/4 - 1/2 mile before you hit the treeline and have to scramble over rocks.

Do you just keep going right after you hit birler 1? And could you just boot hike it? I don't have any skins or AT bindings but ice been thinking of making the trek

yeah you pass the toboggan just past sweeper two (farthest brackett glade before eastern territory), and from there its more of a ski traverse where you're losing some elevation as you make your way east. You eventually hit the burnt mountain trail, and you'll want snowshoes or something from that point up to the snowfield.

God I hope so!! I've had bad luck this year with timing things right with good snow. On the last big ass storm I got stuck on an absolute-cannot-miss shoot. Fucking sucked ass. Worst part was the interviews were only two hours. Bahhhh. Hope we get it good. I'll be there either way.

Just trying to finagle coverage at work. Should be up Wednesday night, possibly thursday, dog en toe. Ill pm you
