Sugarbush

Yesterday morning was the best, the light was incredible and the temp was nice. Towards the afternoon, some clouds rolled in, but it was still fun.

I had a ton of fun, I got my 5s down, so I'm stoked on that.
 
I was up there yesterday, although I was at South all day. The snow was actually pretty good, with exception of few windblown areas, overall pretty fun though.

This rain is going to destroy everything though.
 
they closed a lot of stuff down, including all the parks to try to preserve them. kickers to boxes and rails are probably pretty bad, and i wouldnt be hitting any of the larger jumps for a bit.

ill be up tomorrow after my morning classes, and they say that they will have all the features reopened

anyone know if they got fresh snow?

rumor has it smuggs got 8-12 inches and i saw some pics of stowe in another thread it looked real nice.

the storms always miss bush though, its pathetic.
 
I am thinking of heading up on sunday, would it be worth it? or is the mountain still destroyed form earlier in the week?
 
its been snowing off and on here at norwich today and yesterday.

sugarbush is claiming 2 inches fresh yesterday and another 1+ today

sugarbush.com trail report is saying that the recovery is going well and it seems like theyre basically back on track already. packed powder and frozen granular conditions.

3-6 predicted for friday.

I saw those guys filming too, I heard them talking about going to the smokeshack in the liftline, but I have no idea where it is. I'd like to find out though. I looks like there was a pretty beaten trail going to it. New goal for the season: "Find smokeshack"
 
ive been to smokeshacks at the bush before, too bad i was too baked to remember where they were hahaha

i know the general area but not the exact spot :(

An intense blast of winter Thursday afternoon and early evening resulted in 4-8 inches of new snow across Sugarbush. One patroller told me that 6 inches had fallen in under two hours at Castlerock sometime between 2:00 - 4:00 PM...that's a heavy downfall! Strong winds, however, have distributed that snow unevenly...so though there's certainly some nice powder on the sides of trails, in the woods, and between moguls, you'll also likely find some 'faster' surfaces on our more exposed slopes. So, expect Packed Powder and Frozen Granular trail conditions, with the added bonus of powder for those seeking their softest turns.

it is fucking cold out today if your face isnt covered, but its predicted to be sunny skies and a bit warmer tomorrow

The weather was waaaay better than I thought it was going to be. Too bad my bindings are fucked, I did so shitty today. And yeah that was Ethan, A.K.A beastroast, he's not on NS too much.

I'll be there tomorrow, I ended up getting there at like 3 today because I had some things to do this morning. I got a few runs in with my bro and then hiked a jump for a little bit, but I'm excited for a full day tomorrow.
 
yo dude you live in boston? i live in boston. where u at? i actually go to school here so when im not on break i become a weekend warrior up to VT/NH. the weeks go by way too slowly and i was working on a film project this weekend so i couldn't go up. i almost had a nervous breakdown when i realized i was going to have to film instead of ski.

I was at the bush today, went to tha smokeshack..got lifted LRG all the way. love that park, i just wish kids wouldn't crowd up the run-ins on all the rails...take hot laps fools! you don't need a swing arm boom shit thing for a park edit! I'm tryin to get mine and i've gotta dodge mad kids through the ice that they packed down before and after all the featuress...not feelin that.
