to anyone whos in northern VT, i had a meeting up there this morning, we checked out the new rails, boxes and walls (thats right, 2) being built by Superparx (superparx.com) and talked to the guys in charge of setting the park up. believe me its gonna be legit, these guys are a pro park building company and no more sugarbush crappyness, booyaa.
 
the rails and boxes are good, the superparx guys are good too, but I wont believe it till I see the sugarbush people successfully maintain it
 
Hey guys,

First of all we have also hired a new park manager who is being trained by the Super Parx crew on how to maintain and keep the park in top condition. We are also dedicating a groomer to the park.

Although a lot of you are very skeptical, trust me in knowing that we have revamped our approach to the terrain areas and are going to make sure it stays legit all season. We have spent too much money on variety and features not to.

i was just as skeptical as everyone else should be, its been onthing but dissapointment. but now all thats gone after i met these guys and checked everything out, they're doing gods work, go to sugarbush

if you guys spent too much money on features, you didn't spend any money on advertising, if this park is the shit why haven't you guys even mentioned it on your own website?
 
Umm, have you checked out our website? Go to www.sugarbush.com and on the home page click on the tab for "Ski & Ride" and you will see some headers. Click on the "Park & Pipe" and you will read about Super Parx. Plus we seem to have pictures almost everyday recently that show new features, that promote our parks, etc.

Trust me, we have promoted our terrain parks appropriately. If you don't believe me, ask Burton.

 
And I am sure WE WILL NOT. If you would like to find out just how much work goes into projects like these from design to implementation to maintainence of not only a terrain park but an entire mountain I would be happy to give you a crash course. Not only do we fight Mother Nature (like last year) but we work hard to maintain a product that is first class.

You need to have a little faith, or at least have some insight and knowledge of facts before you blast an opinion across a thread.

We have made major improvements so you can enjoy skiing here. Everything is brand new, including our terrain park philosophy so you need to take a step back and realize the effort we are making.
 
Where do you normally ski? What are you comparing us too? Extreme skiing pioneers, John & Dan Egan, call us home. 2-time Olympic Downhiller, Doug Lewis, calls us home. Current U.S. Freestyle Champ, David Babic, calls us home. The reknowned GMVS school calls us home. Obviously I disagree with your opinion, but that's cool.

Is there a particular reason Sugarbush disappointed you?

Considering the lack of snow in the East last year we managed to stay open for 154 days. Longer than any other resorts in our area. Pretty impressive.

2,600 vertical ft. 4,000 acres of terrain. 5 mile ridgeline between both mountains. Need more?

Have you even be in the woods, or skied in the Slidebrook basin, or are you just judging us on our terrain parks from last season?

well. that may have been last year, but this year all of their shit looks legit, but thats just step one. step two is setting it up correctly, which i am waiting to see how that turns out, but im sure theyll do a good job.

 
you're a douche. if you knew how to actually ski (buttering between park features doesn't count) then you would realize that sugarbush is the shit. No matter what the weather is like there is always something fun do do there. It is one of the only mountains in the east where you can just jump into the trees next to any trail and find legit tree skiing and pow stashes. they have some of the best bumps i have ever skied. their park is pretty tight. you're wrong.

You are going to love our features this year.

We are also one of the fews resorts that has no ropes so you can ski anywhere.

Plus our Slidebrook Chair was rated by High Times as the best smoking lift in North America. Not the best press but it's still good press!!!

We have gotten more natural snow today and plan to have top to bottom (as scheduled since the spring) at Lincoln Peak, which opens this Sat. 12/9.

Thanks to all of you supporters out there, it's much appreciated. We work hard to put down a good product and you guys will be stoked on our parks.

For all of you haters, come back this year and check out the terrain parks and see what Super Parx has done for us. If you still don't like it, at least you will know for sure, rather than just speculating. Experience is knowledge, and knowledge is power!!
 
Fuck yeah. the bush is looking so good to me right now, i live 20 minutes away and its dumping. all the new jibs and shit, this season is going to be off the cahin. and yeah, if you know what up, you can find such insane terrain at the bush.
 
Smuggs got new shit for their park but it will be nothing compared to what superparx would do. but at least it will be better than last year
