Sugarbush 10/11

they took out the traffic block and put in a barrel bonk. i think everyone was having a pretty fucked day with the snow and speed issues because of wind.

Was that you there today? I was there today...for like 40 minutes, haha. The speed was fucked up and so was my ankle. ugh

yeah green pants, orange jacket. couldnt get anything other than a switchup on the pipe. box was too slow and i couldnt even slide the entire down rail. ended up shredding top to bottom for most of the day since it wasnt too bad up at the top.

twas nice pow pow today and sun after noon. had a lot of top to bottom runs and some good adventures into the woods for fresh tracks. see you in a month as well.

I was at Mt Ellen yesterday. It was pretty good but it got really scrapey by the end of the day. They only things they had set up were a tiny down rail and a flat box at the bottom of the GMX.

from the sugarbush website today "...looking forward to tomorrow's continued terrain expansion, including the inauguration of Mt. Ellen's 2011 Riemergasse Terrain Park. "

I got a sneak peek of the park today. The two words I would use to describe it are:

Huge

Firm (icy)

hint, if you are friends with tony on fb hit up his page, there is a video of the park. Sick setup, so stoked, will be riding for a week up there! Hit me up if you wanna take some laps! so stoked

Oh, they looked big from a couple the quad... Bummer. I've got work tomorrow but I'll be up there Monday. See you all there.

so im gonna be up wendsday thru sunday. never been up to sugarbush before and was checkin out the trail map on line and a lot of shit looked closed. whats the deal with the terrain parks. i read through the thread but most of the posts are about a week old.

any help would rule.

if youre looking for park, go to mt ellen. they just finished up the main park there on the Reimergasse trail.

did you check this: http://www.sugarbush.com/reports/interactivetrailmap.asp

everything in yellow is closed, white is open, black lines mean its groomed. im guessing you were thinking yellow was open trails, since there arent many of those.

park: riemergasse on mt ellen

terrain: exterminator woods and bravo woods (both on mt. ellen)

if there is fresh snow to be had though, paradise to lower paradise on lincoln peak is an amazing opened up glade similar to glades out west. always gets more snow because of wind too.

yeah thats what i was looking at but it looks like more has opened since i looked at it a few days ago.

thanks for all the info.real stoked on how the terrain park looks.

ill be there tommorow. Shit was soooo windy today! Fuckin drove 25 over to ellen, to find every lift closed due to CRAZY strong winds :(. Their park is lookin finee! tons of jibs, they turned the old cannoin rail into a down feature! Shit looks tight! Hit me up, will be in a purp jacket, yellow tall tee riding anthems or chronics

im really looking forward to all these pipes instead of the bars. down flat pipe looks super smooth and the cannon looks sick. jumps look smaller than last year and im fine with that. they seem to be much nicer in shape and landings than last year.

cant wait to get back to school. guess ill have to make use of my backyard for now.

Yeah the donkey dick tube is actually SUPER sketchy....I didn't really care for it. The down tube is pretty fun though, it just takes some getting used to because really really slippery.

The jumps are pretty damn small, but they have nice long landings so it's okay to over shoot a little.

The park is still more directed to snowboarders IMO, but it's okay. It's still a really fun park and I think that once they add a few more rails it will be prime.

What are the chances Sugarbush will still be on wind hold tomorrow? The wind is still going to be around 20mph with gusts at 30

i had a good time today. the donkey dick was actaully pretty fun. and the single barrel was smooth as always. only one jump was open but it was fun and they all looked pretty well made. the down tube was sick. only bad thing was that the boxes seemed suuuper sticky. definitely off to a good start with the park this year.

so fucking fun today! got some inverts on the last jump, im stoked! snow was soopah slushy and fun!

There you go big guy.

By the way, how's the face feeling after your little interaction with the A-Frame?

He tried to slide into it, like slide the snow then continue up the rail. As soon as he turned he caught an edge on something, could have been the front of the rail, or the edge of the foot wide jump. Whatever it was he came down hard on the rail. It didn't look so fun...
