Suction cup mount for GoPro

So my mom got me the Naked for xmas, so I had to buy all the extra mounts myself, wanted the chest mount and a few others plus a SD card and found it to be the same price to get this lil package from amazon

basically its every mount gopro offers...kinda nice

So back to my question...Now the site says "NOT RECOMMENDED for surfboards, snowboards or other high-impact sports. Only recommended for non-impact activities." Now I assume thats because it has the possibility of falling off of whatever its attached to in the event of a crash. But it would be really nice to use for follow cams with people that don't have a helmet mount, and for temporary mounting in low consequence situations, like GS racing or groomer cruising. Another idea I had was to do a ski mount with it.

Now are any of these really bad ideas for this mount possibly resulting in damage to it/the camera? Or do you guys think that most of these ideas are feasible but I would just have to be careful when using it.

I do plan on using a standard mount for pretty much everything but I just want to know if the suction cup is really a good idea to use while skiing.
 
i don't see how you would use it, but you could easily use an adhesive mount and get more or the 3m vhb stuff, or use the chest or helmet mount. what are you trying to attach the go pro to?
 
well you could use the suction cup on a helmet or skis two places where people dont want the adhesive mounts. If they don't own a gopro they really wouldnt want to put a mount on there just for one days use.

Same deal with the ski mount too, just seems like a waste of a mount.

 
if someone dosent want to put a mount on there helmet, just use the headlamp style strap, you would not want to use the suction cup on skis because as they flex it may fall off, same reason you don't want to use the sticky mounts on skis.
 
suction cupped my ski today, didnt work, falls right off once it vibrates pretty good.
