Substitute for skis on trampoline!?!?!?!

so i have a trampoline and i want something i can put on my feet to feel like skis. I was thinking maybe cut a pool noodle into certain dimensions and duct taping it to my feet. Any other ideas?

Maybe put some rollerblades without frames on for the added weight?

The pool noodle idea is good but probably too soft.

Doesn't work. It folds. Your best bet is pool noodles, however they do wear down really easily. If you have access to one of those foam sleds with the plastic on the bottom cut it into ski size pieces and duct tape old shoes to it. It's the absolute best trampoline ski if you can get your hands on one.

if you want it to resemble anything like skis it has to weigh a decent amount. get an only pair of skis for free out of your shops dumpster, at a goodwill or something. even if they are huge old mogul skis from the 60s, cut them to the size of a 151cm ski or so. then go to lowes, and but pipe insulation. it looks like a foam tube and it is like 2$ for a 10 foot length. cut it down the middle so you have two half circles. duct tape those around the skis so you dont rip the tramp bed, and youre ready to go.

dont use real skis on a tramp caus if u under rotate, u will eat shit soo hard! i've tried using pool noodles and old running shoes strapped to the noodles. but after a while the noodles just snapped and fell apart.

Just so everyone knows, using old skis (even snowblades) is extremely fucking dangerous on a trampoline. Your feet can spring back at your face if you over or under rotate. I've seen people knock out teeth, get black eyes, and bloody faces from wearing socks, imagine how bad it would be with duct tape skis.

I'm not saying don't do it, just be careful and pad them shits up.

at this trampoline place near my house, they had like this smushy foamy stuff and they had shoes glued to it. they were short

i wouldnt bother making ski-like things, you'll "waste" money and time making them only to not be able to jump as high/well as you can normally

obviously youre interested in making it a bit more like skiing for practice.. IMO the main difference is simply the weight difference, the length of the skis never bothers me when im skiing compared to flipping not on skis... so what im saying is what i would do is just get appropriately sized ankle weights and use that-- will simulate the bottom heavy feel of skiing but wont mess up your bouncing etc

but if i were you, you'd be me, and you could use MY body to make tramp skis. so i can't really stop you

I'd say unfold a wire coat hanger, more like 4 of them. Cut cardboard so that it's like a ski and run the wires through the cardboard.
It won't help with weight but it probably will help with getting grabs.

i would just use angle weights. they can compensate for the the spine weight of longer skis just by how heavy they are. theyre really good for getting a feel for how something heavy on the end of your legs is going to affect inversions in the air.

also i dont think skis would even work, they distribute your weight too much so you wouldnt be able to bounce very high. angle weights for sure

oh, and if you can, find a way to make your feet/shoes go through the cardboard so they're whats hitting the trampoline and not the whole thing.

never tried it always thought about just putting diving or training weights on my ankles just to get the feeling of weight on my feed

i took an old boogey board (Styrofoam body board) and cut it in half then I bungee chord my feet onto it and stick the ends of the bungee chord right into the Styrofoam. They don't simulate the weight at all but it's perfect for grabs.

BHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

that vid was amazing!

but seriously: how would a ceral box on ur feet simulate skis? and why would they need to be so wide? and why do they need twintips???

If you were going to wear rollerblades without frames...
why would you not just wear your ski boots?

1. cut pool noodle in half

2. glue piece of the smallest PVC pipe you can find onto the underside where the semi-circle is (make sure the PVC is shorter than the noodle)

3. SUPER tape old shoes

4. enjoy.

How about getting an old bodyboard with a plastic base and cutting out the shape of some skis and strapping shoes to it. seem like the most durable and safest material for you and your tramp.

i got some thick pool noodles and cut a chunk out in the middle. i put old snowboard bindings were the rectangle chunks were cut off and ran a pvc pipe through the middle of the noodle. I also took the back off of the snowboard bindings. The just used old sneakers with a kind of high top. the weight felt close and they weren't bad for grabs

Dont use skis on the tramp, especially for flips. I speak from experience...I did a backflip, under rotated, caught my tips, fell foward, and got stabbed in the head with my tail, requiring about 6 stitches. If you must, use a helmet. And as far as a substitute, try ankle weights, swim noodles taped to shoes/feet, or cardboard skis.

i think the last post speaks for itself that nobody should try using any sort of real skis on a trampoline. the ankle weight idea seems like a good idea. How much do an average pair of skis weigh (say 171cm with 90-95 underfoot?) i'm just lookin for a rough estimate.....

i've really been looking into this
i wanna make a pair
what do you think this guy used? Courtesy of Newschoolers.com/static/images/flash_video_placeholder.png

yah that vid is super old

I had a gt with twin tipped skis so I just screwed those off and duct taped a pair of shoes to them, works pretty well just need to figure out a way to make it a little less slippery.

the length would throw off the bounce.
just as far as simulating the weight, you could use leg wights that are designed for runners

I don't recommend trying to simulate skis on a trampoline. it makes for an awkward bounce, and makes it nearly impossible to simulate what it really feels like to be in the air.
You are far better off just jumping without anything on your feet and progressing that way.

i taped a layer of cardboard on the bottom of an old pair of snowblades and it worked pretty decently. but its still not really like skiing
