Anyone know anything about this? Seems really interesting... I know it's Cody Raisig's deal. If you haven't checked it out yet: subluxclothing.com

Dude, It is so easy to start a clothing company, especially if you in the industry like Cody Raisig. All you do is make a logo and a name, get it screened on some hoodies and shirts, get some pros to wear the shit, then sell the hoodies for $50 bucks a pop. Instant success. Easiest shit ever.

they do have some wicked clothes

but if u r a good clothing company, you will support the sport and hold events and competitions which isnt always that easy.

HOnestly, their team is great and Liam is a really nice guy,, but they need a new designer , the stuff they have out right now really stinks.. It looks dumb and cliche' ....

True the price is better, but at least with Siver you can tell what the heck you're looking at... And the art makes sense

I ordered a hoodie and can't wait. All the shit looks so nice.

I like sublux's website better... Siver's was better last year than this year. The whole 'click and hold' in order to see the clothing was kindof a pain.

Yah some of the Sublux stuff is pretty sick. I think I'm thrownin my money at Harvey though, he's done a incredible job and deserves it.

better to burn out...

...then fade away

Go to walmart and buy a black zipper hoodie for like $10 and get a can of spray paint and a piece of cardboard and you make the same thing and save like $40+

Like a good roast, a good skier takes time to develop

^Even Josh Berman wears it...it's all the rage.

Get some sour cream and onion chips with some dip, man, some beef jerky, some peanut butter. Get some Haagen-Das ice cream bars, a whole lot, make sure chocolate, gotta have chocolate, man. Some popcorn, red popcorn, graham crackers, graham crackers with marshmallows, the little marshmallows and little chocolate bars and we can make smores, man. Also, celery, grape jelly, Captain Crunch with the little Crunch berries, pizzas. We need two big pizzas, man, everything on 'em, with water, whole lotta water, and Funyons

However...50 dollars is alot of money to pay for a hooded sweatshirt....I think its outrageous and that no companies should charge that much..Look at LSP- they only chare a little over 30 bucks.....Thats where the shit is at

word, i'm a little short on bling, so zippy from NSC is going to be a bitch.

^go for it and call it ski 4 ever

now that's a name for the ages?

school=no money = no skiing = insanity

the only problem is half my ideas sound like things that already exist.

hey some of that Sublux stuff is actually half decent, wouldn't mind a few of those hoodies.

Having ideas for clothing/production/ski companies is the easy part, actually producing and selling them is not so easy. It's the small independent labels that are keeping skiing alive and pushing it forward - if it wasn't for these we'd still be skiing 2m straights!

When are we gonna get some basement clothing companies that make gear we can actually ride in rather than just sit around the lodge and try and look cool with? Anybody, and I mean, ANYBODY, can design a logo and throw it on t-shirt. Neat, LOOK, a new freeskiing company! Whoopee! There's still a market for outerwear, just nobody wants to put the effort forth. Oh well.

^gd point but what normally happens is that when a small 'logo company' starts to make it big and get some serious money in they then start developing the outerwear.

outerware takes capital... lots of risk... sivers on its way, they have like a nylon jacket warm up type deal... so pretty much, give each start up 5 years or so.

Outerwear is v.expensive, and near impossible with small runs. You also really have to know what you're doing re: materials etc, as it has to work in all conditions. You're right though, there's no point in starting a ski label if you can't use the gear for skiing, hence our hoodys are designed with spring/good weather skiing in mind, ie 100% cotton and v.heavyweight (420gsm), double that of standard hoodys.

You're right, I forgot that most of these clothing companies are started up by kids with either money from their parents or their jobs at Burger King...

and what is wrong with that? eventhough that isn't necessarily true...

Nothing. Nothing is wrong with starting a company with money you got from mom/dad or burger king. If you're dedicated enough to work at burger king to raise some capital for your company, you've got to be pretty damn dedicated. Or stupid. Either way, it's pretty cool to see 'skier' streetwear companies pop up. It's one more step in re-directing the ski industry as a whole, and that can only bring good.
