ok, also. You said you only had a sparco on the driver's seat. But clearly in that picture, the seat shown is the passenger seat. Also, that gauge cluster is not the STI cluster.

Actually, I know noone in this thread, but I'm gonna do some owning back...

Hood scoop in first picture on page #1 is completely different then the hood scoop on that last liked photo. Also, the wheels in AJ's photos are silver while the wheels in that last linked photo look to be the gold STi wheels.

Explainations as to how this is the same car? Is it possible they have similar cars?

hahahahaa, $10 says that AJ guy never replies in here again! And to the person that wanted to know about the measurements, I'll get it for you. Not sure exactly what it is now. BUT, the seats in newer impreza's (98 and on I believe) do not fold down. You could always get a rack, or a wagon with one, and put it up there. But some older impreza seats do fold down, and I'm sure there'd be PLENTY of room to put a 6'6' board in there!

I have the WRX wagon, and it's not that long with the seat folded down. It's a bit small for me to sleep in, even at an angle, and I'm 5'7. I think a roof rack would be an easier way to go.

Brit & Becka, thanks for the help... I have a roof rack but it's annoying to carry a surfboard on top of a car, especially for a long distance cause they tend to flop around cause they're so big

where you gonna put the 4 tweeters rowen? there's one spot on each door, but where else can you put em? cd player should get here beginning of next week! $30 for mine? you know you have to do all the wiring for the amp right? gotta get a wiring kit, they're only like $30 at wal mart. How many watts is the amp? I can help you do the install, I've done it SO many times on SO many cars.

Ok Sean, my freinds old scary but pimped up 76 Dodge Van broke apart finally, so we're stripping it because hes going to college on the east coast (This is the guy with the Justy). So hes loaning me the sub box he made with 2 10 inchers and some sort of sub built in... i havent gotten to poke at it yet. im going to go over there later this week and pick up the tweeters he had in there too, and maybe the AV inputs, and possibly the black lights. i would much appriciate help with the wiring tho, so i'll talk to you once i get all the subs and shit. You want anything from the van? i could get it cheap...

Isn't STi just a model of the WRX, made for a more serious driver? Just like civics have all that shitty ass stuff like Si or Type R. Isn't STi the equivalent to a Type R, in the sense that it's still a Civic, but with a better engine for more output?

STI is Subaru Technica International. They are a company in Japan that makes performance parts for Subaru. Kinda part of Subaru, kinda seperate. It's still Fuji Heavy Industries. When you buy a WRX, you get a Subaru WRX. When you buy a STI WRX, it has STI parts. Suspension, interior, breaks, wheels, transmission (6speed!) etc etc etc. More horsepower, blah blah. Not really like 'Type-R' or 'SI' like you said, more like TRD like on Toyotas. And the WRX first came out in 1994, everybody thinks its just the bug-eye ugly things. Its not. The GC8 (older body) just weren't sold in US, only 2.2 L's, 1.8 Brightons, and starting in 1998 the 2.5 RS. Those all have essentially the same body, just different engines and such. All Imprezas however. My eventual goal is to convert my car into a Version 4/5 STI WRX. I MIGHT boost my 2.2 liter engine, and get a widebody kit (flared front/rear fenders, ala the 22B impreza) or swap out my engine for an older STI 2.0 liter WRX turbo engine. Already got the v.4 wing. I just need the hood and v.4 or v.5 front bumper.

My car is the black one on the far left. notice the HORRIFICALLY ulgy hubcaps, yeah. I need wheels BAD. I'm going to get the 99 RS silver wheels (same as STI v.6), but those have to wait till I have money again.

that's ivan's car, hes not on this board. just came on when I told him about it. I'm not sure how much he's put in to his car, but its a LOT. it really is an amazing car (even if it does have bug-eye lights!). go look at his posts, and go to his website, he's got a TON of pictures on there with all kinds of info and stuff on the car.

yea, i don't like the bug eye look on the newer wrx. i do like the 2.5 rs or the wrx that never came to these shores before. those hub-cabs need to go dude, can't you just ask that ivan guy for it. from his web site, it seems like he should have 2 sets of wheels lying around, 3 including the stock ones. my next car will probally be the wrx sti or a xterra, that is as of now. you should have more pic of your car.

The newest model of Rex (incl the STi) fixed the headlight problem (-: Personally, I'd love to get the new B4 when it is finally released here in the States, but I can't afford it and I think I'd rather get an SVX than try to convert a used Legacy GT.
