my friend has one that he has spent literally thousands of dollars on to make it faster, and he lets me drive it. I have probably driven it eight or nine times, and it friken hauls ass. You can not lean forward when you are on the throttle in any gear. Sti would be the first car that i would get, but for some reason when i got my first car i decided on a Jeep. Oh well hopefully i will get one in a few years.

 
audi is better if you can afford it. mine lives in the driveway now... till i can get some other sucker to take it.

 
what the heck are you trippin on? the only sick thing about the tribeca is the engine. everything else is a bad mix of alfa romeo and who knows what.

audi is NOT better. overpriced not faster and don't last as long as subarus.

all subarus ('cept the baja that thing is funky) are the shit. i love my 2000 2.5RS and my buddy has a WRX he loves. if i could get a new car right now it would without a doubt be the STI

yes, Audi is better. it's just a fact. they are also some of the longest lasting, most reliable, and highest performing cars on the road.

Audi has a full range of cars that will walk all over Subaru's line. When you compare something like the WRX STi to what you may know about Audi, like the A4, of course you will think Subaru is the shit, but that's apples to oranges.

when you've actually had experience with the cars you're arguing about, then come back and state your 'facts'. i have had the experience, and i can tell you that Audi is far superior to Subaru.

but, don't think that i'm ripping on Subaru, because i'm not. i regularly drive a 2004 WRX STi with more things done to it than this website allows room to list, and it is one of the fastest cars i have ever seen, which is saying a hell of a lot.

 
well then, maybe you should talk to car & driver and motor trend...they seem to think likewise.

And yes it is like comparing apples and oranges...you see a WRX is a high performance rally bred vehicle whereas the A4 is a retarded piece of shit

Subaru's are the greatest car you can buy for the amount of money they cost. I know a guy who pushed his Impreza Outback Sport to over 400,000 miles. Thats pretty impressive. Also, with the STI, thats like buying a ridiculous sports car for about 30,000 dollars. Not to mention all wheel drive etc.etc.

i want to have space in my subaru and i have used the back as a bed. the legacy wagon comes with a 2.5 and im told you can do just as much to them as the wrx.

I don't know how you guys can afford STIs as a first car, but hell, I'm envious. I've never had the chance to be in an STI although I keep telling my dad "Let's go test drive one". When my sister's boyfriend gets his full license (In BC you get L, then N for 2 years, then you can get your full license) we'll go to all the dealerships in town and test drive a bunch of high end vehicles.

yeah, the reason I got my Legacy wagon was that I can fit so much gear in it. It handles super well in bad conditions too.

weiner i got you beat. i drive a '90 legacy wagon. its got like 170 thousand miles on it now, doesnt like to shift when its real humid out, and my head unit occasionally cuts out from a short i can't find, but the thing doesnt die. i've never gotten it stuck in snow, in fact, i pass SUVs stuck in ditches on the side of the road on a regular basis when it snows. and whoever was comparing audis and subarus, its not really a fair comparison, they are aimed at entirely different markets.

 
have you driven an A4? have you driven an S4? what about the RS6? the RS8? yeah... i thought so.

i have and i can guarantee that Audi is a more complete, upscale, high performance company than Subaru will ever be.

Audi's Quattro system is better in every way than the 30/70 All Wheel Drive system in most subarus (including the STi). Everything about Audi is more intelligent and far above Subaru in every way.

The RS8 is a 6.0L BiTurbo V12 that produces 600 horsepower... and sticks it to the ground with Quattro.

Subaru has the STi.

Like I said, apples and oranges, they're two different things. But, Audi is still a more rounded company in every way.

Like I said before, when you've driven the cars you argue about, then come back here and state your 'facts'. until then, don't pick your favorite company and say everything else sucks.

I've killed STI's before with my Audi (stage III+ S4). Plus my ride is much more refined. Its actually nice to ride in. Subarus are fast and fun, but they are terrible on long legs mainly because thats not what they were designed for.

 
and as far as overpriced your wrx is 25K with shitty cloth seats shitty stereo shitty overall interior thats why its cheaper, if you weren't an idiot you would realize that the two cars serve a different purpose and EUROflava will always own ugly rice burners REGARDLESS

first of all your S4 starts at 47k. thats just less than twice the price of the WRX. so yea audis are overpriced. shitty interiors in subarus? maybe its not leather but its still good. and who wants leather with an outdoor lifestyle. water, mudd not good for leather. the stereo is good too. you have no clue what you are talking about. if you buy an audi what you are saying is "look at me i can aford an audi" if a person actually researched it they would realize subi's are a better deal

like i said the cars are not comparable, my s4 (b5) is currently selling for 20-30k boss, a subi is car you can whoop on inside and out where as an audi has some serious class factor and having driven a wrx for a few months subi awd is NOTHING like quttro not even close. so yeah if your more into saving money than buying a better car buy a subaru,

 
you can easily get an s4 now for 20k i got mine for 16k with 44 thousand miles, and you would probably spend 15k on a used wrx, but the s4 is faster, alot nicer, the sterio is like 50 times better, and the quattro system is just plain better.

i was trying to decide on either getting a wrx or an s4 and i drove like 5 wrx's and 3 s4's and each wrx i tried had a problem, on two of them the cupholder was broken, one vibrated like crazy, and one the cupholder, the ac vents, and the shift knob were messed up. while the only problem with the s4's i found was that on one the thing you pull to open the hood broke so audi may cost more but their not overpriced their just better.

and audi has won alot more rallys with their quattro system than subaru, audi pretty much invented awd, and their made by germans, while subaru is made by japanese.

im not saying subaru's are bad cars they are really cool especially the sti, but compared to audi they just arent as good.

one thing you ahve to do is go take a drive with jon fay on the back roads of huntington gorge...hes got like a 96 or 95 imprezza...front wheel drive, scares the living piss out of you but hes got that shit down. another friend of mine has a old as shit volvo that he can rally around like none other (his dad was a racer and he races bikes competetively). those two guys are fucking insane behind the wheel on the dirt roads of vt. but then again i love my 99 suby imprezza wagon. served me well in all situations that ive had it. driving up the mountain on a closed road this winter in mammoth was no real problem for it, as well as hauling a full car plus a u haul trailer across country, twice. i sure do love my suby.
