Subaru Mods

I'm getting the Cobb AP this week. Gonna get it from Perrin since they have a bit more agressive maps and they will make you a custom map specific to your mods. Gonna get spt exhaust with an invidia catless dp, and a high flow panel filter. That's my first move.

That will be a fun start and make the car real fun to drive.

i have one under each seat in my forester. if you are looking for simplicity, not looking to lose room, and if you can find it cheap... then do it otherwise just do the pocket mod for a sub.

I have a black 2010 2.5i hatch, just lowered her on some H&R street coils, I have a few plans as far as wheels and fitment go, but does anyone have any suggestion or ideas for her? wheels, performance, body, etc?

They arent powerful at all. They are very compact. I didnt want the "boom", I just wanted a fuller sound. I also didnt want to lose any cargo space. I also found mine on Nasioc and local. I paid $45 for one of the subs and two harness'.. the other sub was given to me by a member on Nasioc. That said, if you can find a good deal... completely worth it.

See I want the "boom" but don't want to loose the space. I just hate how the subwoofer in the back vibrates the whole side panel and makes an awful noise..

yup. Just make sure you build a good box. Check out the pocket sub mod for the foresters at scooby mods. You dont lose the space and can use a shallow mount. Not the cheapest or easiest route though.

Gah, I was just hoping there'd be an easy under the seat subwoofer that provided some oomph without a shit ton of wiring. I just want something that I can feel the bass without it vibrating just one side panel making a shitty vibration noise.

Check out the Infinity Basslink.. Ive never used one, but have heard good things about them. That would be pretty close to what you are looking for.

Dont waste your time with appearance mods and fart cans. Save up some money and do an sti swap. Then you have an sti without the high insurance or price tag. You will also have the ultimate sleeper.

..or for an easier mod, throw an NS sticker on the bumper.

Well, I have changed my view towards mods. I am not looking to do much, but would like to put some sit/wrx suspension on it, get a jdm scoop, a new subwoofer/headunit, spoiler, and get new wheels. I am looking for NS stickers at the moment as well haha. Eventually I will get a Cobb AP.

Thanks man! This thread can be opened up to anyone to discuss mods! I'll continue to ask questions and update periodically.

Only mod mine has is a k&n ca intake kit and a tune. (and window tint)

It'll get a turbo back exhaust kit when my stock exhaust falls off and another tune and thats as far as it goes

The intake alone nothing, it messes with the mass air flow sensor and won't run properly. But after a tune, roughly +25hp.

Stupid question, will a magna flow muffler give me a deeper sound? I really want a cheap and easy way to upgrade my sound.

yup. or search NASIOC for a used axle or cat back and have the flange rotated. I have a cat back from an RS and its throaty but not over powering.

Just put some RA's on too. Running stage one with spt cbe and drop performance filter. It is smoother when boosting. Quicker to accelerate and a noticeable gain from late 2nd gear on up. Should be getting the dp in two weeks or so and go stage 2 and stiffen up the body for impressive improvement.

Anyone use spacer kits to widen wheel stance? Seems like a cheap way todo it but effective.

I've used them. Not a bad idea, just plan it out with your entire set up Struts, springs, Wheel offset, etc). Also plan on replacing wheel bearings prematurely.

Stage 1 +Aem cai. You can seriously hear the turbo spool up from like a block away. You can hear the stock bov. It is crazy. Pretty noticeable gains after 3k rpm. Better throttle response too.

Anyone rocking a catless dp? Boost creep?

You can't even see it. Goes all the way to the wheel well casing. It's got a heat shield around it too.

if any of you are considering doing full exhaust, like headers dp averything, do it. drove a 2011 rex with everything the other day, the sound is incredible

Ive got an Apexi 3'' turbo back no cats on my 02 wrx, and she sounds derty. This is my only mod, other than the cat less up pipe.

dude...getting information about any cars while on NS is honestly retarded. you said you were on a car forum, why don't you use the search button i'm sure they have on their site and look for that answer yourself.

the info you get here is going to be of no help to you, or probably wrong. ski forum for skiing, car forum for cars. it just makes sense...

and when all else fails, you can use this little gem known as google to answer your questions.

This thread was made for subaru owners just like me. I am a member for 4 different forums, so obviously this isn't my primary one. When I have a question, I ask it to multiple ones to compare answers and shit like that. This is also non ski gabber, so no shit it's not going to relate to skiing haha.

Just got my turboxs 3" downpipe today. Putting it on in a few hours and going stage 2 whoooooooppppp.
