Subaru Mods

Sorry I don't mean to threadjack but I just had a quick question. I saw a 2002 Subaru WRX for sale for a great price. the only problem is that it has 188k miles on it. How risky would you say it is to get a suby with this many miles on it?
 
totally straight pipe it, with the full length cabin you'll get a nice resonating hum on the highway
 
Kind of a thread jack, but I feel like you guys know way more than I do regarding this. Looking to buy a Subi on a lower budget, found a 1997 Outback Legacy with 270xxx kms on it for under $2,000 Canadian. Worth it? Or is it gunna crap out on me/cost me a ton in upkeep? It doesn't look like its been driven hard or 4x4ed in ever, new timing belt, radiator,
 
i would say that you would be pretty safe getting it i love my legacy its done 208--- kms and is still going hard and i would say that she has a lot more in her
 
yea my b9 tribeca has 10,000km on her I feel that's a pretty good indicator of it hitting 369,000km without even a maple syrup change

this thread is pure comical.....kid buying car with 200,000 km just because he want sto look "cool" and drive a subaru. The pictures of kids cars in this thread are disgusting. Hideous looking cars. HAHA people actually mod a fucking forester? Its a lez mobile. NOTING will make a forester look cool. Pathetic what kids will do to attempt to make their images "better" by altering there car.
 
So all you subaru kids, I just broke 100k on my 04 forester, should I be changing the timing belt and is that gonna cost a ton of money? I've head yes, change it, so the cylinders/heads/whatever don't blow up on me.
 
You definitely want to change it sooner than later. If id goes it could fuck your entire engine up.

It'll run you somewhere around 5-800.
 
is its possible to do on your own? I just crossed 110k and im going to need to do mine soon cause im not sure if the previous owner did...
 
Wow, haven't been on ns in awhile and this thread is still going. Sadly, more bullshit than help... But what's new. I'm on my 3rd Forester, 2 of them being XTs. 4.8 is easily attainable. Car looks good Sheldon. Keep it up. This one was just rear ended by a suburban last month.

white FXTs are my favorite.. I just saw a WR blue FXT driven by some grandma today, it was dissapointing..
 
Just the springs won't fit. You need to do the struts as well and depending on what year wrx they come from, possibly top hats as well.
 
Just put a DIY front lip on, looks amazing! Also just debadged the back.. Probably will be painting them black and putting the forester one back on.

He's also currently got a 98 version 2 STi swapped Forester with AEM EMS 4 standalone ECU, along with a few other supporting mods. Selling it for 6800 currently. Kind of want...
