Subarus may have the best sounding engines ever... they are definitely the best sounding four bangers ever. Case in point...My 2008 WRX with straight pipe...

yea there pritty sick sounding................but i belive the ford 302 or 5.0L are the best sounding out there. the mazda 3 speed sounds pritty sick to if you get the ecaust done
 
If you have a sub on your computer's speakers, make sure its on...the note is pretty deep. If you are on a laptop, then god help you.

sorry, i decided a while ago to have a good laugh at the expense of the first person to buy the giant, oversized streamlined dongs that are the 08 rexes.
 
Sounds awesome as well...

...But these are the same engines. So yea. You might agree. What canisters are on on that LGT?
 
sounds like my waggy when i had a straight pipe on it, but much quieter. thats a nice exhaust on the LGT i almost bought a LGT wagon, black. but opted for the wrx because i couldnt find the legacy in stick.

the newest wrx's are meh, but they have grown on me more and more since ive seen photoshops or pictures of people modding them. i really like the sti's though, but i would rather have an evo 10 over the new sti these days, looks so much sicker.
 
thats what i got a red lgt wagon 5 speed

i put that full perrin exhaust from header back (stock turbo)

2 weeks after i got that exhaust i got pulled over.

they made me take the cans off :[

 
hey, you've still got a brand new wrx and that's sick as hell.

but don't try to tell me that if you had a choice of any year, somehow all brand new, you'd chose the '08's.
 
damn that sucks man, i had alot done to mine. i actually just sold all the parts that were on it. started off with a 20G and then came the rest haha. full coilovers, whiteline sway bars, upgraded top mount, too much to list, it makes me sad thinking its back to stock now and my mom drives it around. :(
 
true that man i have an 08 exL im not hating at all on teh car i love it great car but it does lack a bit on the power another 30 horse would be perfect
 
those are really nice cars, they have an advantage though with the traction control, (my buddy has one) i was ripping around turns so carelessly TRYING to make it spin out or loose control and the traction control just kept it controlled and pulled through the turn. if i were to do that in my rex in the conditions that i was driving in, i would have either flipped, of flown into a ditch.

they guy who was driving the wrx probably didnt know how to launch, because i raced my buddy when i was stock, and we were pretty even. your turbo spools up alot better than ours. but i must admit, when i took off the line in his vw it felt alot faster than when i launch the wrx.

OMB's is my favorite.
 
subaru's do sound great, but it gets a little played. imo they only sound "great" when its a rally car, the exhaust, mixed with the turbo whine, backfiring, and the blow off sound all mixed together is awesome.
imo the best sounding 4 cyl car is an e30 m3, especially the race cars.
otherwise, ferrari v8's that zonda, and the carrera gt and especially the morgan aero 8 sound the best for street cars.and you have to admit that american cars do sometimes sound great, i guess its the only thing they can do well.for any car though, id have to say the turbo v8's in champ car's. the blow off sounds like a gunshot or explosion every time, that mixed with the slightly deeper formula one sounding sound and the backfiring is so awesome.
 
actually you can thank the unequal length hearders for the subaru rumble, slap equal length headers on that baby and it'll sound like any other 4 banger
 
That's because its a boxer engine which is unique to dubs.
I personally like the sound of srt4's I guess since I drive one it makes me love it more.

It sounds mean turns heads but its just a neon =p
 
i cant begin how i am so dissappointed when Subaru came out with the 08' wrx. i think it just dosent look like the WRXs of the past.

too bad the acceleration for diesel is shit tho
 
just gotta say this..

the 2jz-gte may be a wonderful sounding engine..

but for being on dicks, i think everyone in the world are on supra's dicks..
