sub-zero temperatures and your edges

could sliding rails in sub zero temperatures put your edges at greater risk of cracking and ripping out?

dont think so. unless it was REALLY REALLY cold. but then you'd prolly die if it was cold enough to make your edges brittle.

ive heard that if u r sliding enough, the friction from sliding will heat up the edges and expand the metal a reallll lil bit

then when u hit the snow, if its cold enough, the edges shrink back to normal instantly and they can get cracks

according to laws of physics, it makes sense, but like i sed, im not 100% sure

^That guy's right. Temperature differential is what causes edge cracking.

Yes, the colder it is the more brittle any substance becomes. Dunno if it matters enough to actually crack your edges though.
