i pisses me off when people think tricks should be done a certant way to be styley. i mean, the whole point of our sport is to break away from the airealist style, which sprouted from people deciding that this one style was what looked good, and thats how everyone should do it. if we decide one way of doing a trick is what's styley, then we are going to end up just like the airealists.

ya but you could do a trick that is super hard and have no style and then see a kid do a 540 tail with some ill style and it looks way cooler. also yall gotta start getting some damn style on rails.

 
i'm not saying style in general is bad, i'm saying when people start saying only if you do a trick this way it's styley, thats stupid

your opinion is no longer valid on this site. noone that matters has ever said that one style is the best and all the rest suck... jumping is an artform, everyone has their own style. pollards style is nothing like tanner's style, which is nothing like mickeals style, which is nothing like jf's style - yet everyone says they have good style... newschool will never become arials or moguls because there is no right and wrong style, there is just 'what looks cool' and what doesn't. if it don't look cool than you won't make it in the ski world. but why do you care? it's not like you're going to be a pro.

As harsh as it was, its right to point of that different styles are, well, different. It varies from person person.

yea i dont think he's gay, i think his point was awesome, i havent seen anyone posting 'oh u have to tweak the grab like this for it to be style' ive just seen posts saying have style in the jump, also style is what personalizes the jump otherwise its just what everyone else is doing.

i'm just saying you're wrong thats all... i would have an intilectual conversation with you if you wern't wrong... but when it's known that one side of the 'conversation' is wrong than the conversation is a waste of time and you might as well get right to the point...

now if you were to talk about if the light in the fridge goes off when you close the door or not... than we can have an good conversation

Yeah, a conversation with the exchange of opinions, but when one side is wrong, and that can be proven, the it becomes POINT MADE BASED ON FACT, IN WHICH THE FACT IS WRONG->BROUGHT TO ATTENTION THAT FACT IS WRONG ->END. There is nothing more to say on the matter. If the fact is wrong, it's wrong. An arguement can't be built around it. Facts and opinions are different. In a conversation of opinions, its POINT->COUNTER-POINT. Or in another FACT->OPINION ON THE FACT STATED->POINT MADE IN DISAGREEMENT TO OPINION->COUNTER-POINT MADE IN DEFENSE

However, I don't think you're completley wrong. Some people do think that tricks have to be done one way to be stylie, but the vast majority of don't think that. If they did however, it would piss me off too.

As for the aerialist thing, I think we're safe from that. Styles range from person to person, and freeskiers aren't judged in competitions on a standerd of style.
