I seems that skiing is heading towards a snowboard style(tanner,CR)If done right that style is done right it can look allright. I think people should instead look at skiers like Boyd,Jon, and pep for insperation since there style are unigue to skiing. Everyone is also saying tanner started the monkey steeze but look back and watch eric pollard in movies he ws doing shit like that long before tanner and it's his natural style unlike tanner who forces himself to hunch over. I know everones gonna rip on me for this but it's just my opinion.

tanner might force himself to do it bt it loks pretty nice i have to say... its true though jons style is better but thats a pretty biast opinion i just like jon

 
The only thing with that style is they never really get super tweaked stuff going on. Like, A blunt where the guys knees are up in his face doesn't look as good as when he's stretched out while still looking relaxed.

I can't really describe it, but I'd have to say the most important thing out there is the smooth flow some people have, someone could do a gorilla style corked 3 with some flail, and to me it would look as good as someone doing a cork 3 liu kang without wavering an arm.

There is now way eric pollard skis with 'monkey steeze' thats purley tanner hall. Pollard skis with his arms in front of him slightley crouched. Tanner took pollards style and exagertaed it times 10. Pollard skis very efficently he used to race fis and shit he knows how to ski.

 
Pollard is a really good all around skier because, yes he's very smooth, but he can also take it to tha back country and cliff hucks. Tanner is a good skier tho, just not as good all around, he's just a park rat.

Style is too hard to argue over, too much is variable. No one does 'gorilla' in the pipe, sure a little hunched over but if you did you'd look bad. but when your in the park gorilla's all good, out on BC booters not guite as good

yeah even though tanner skis like a gorilla try to keep up with him around the mountain, he is a damn good all around skier no matter how he skis..

if they all skied and grabbed like Jon skiing wouldnt be diverse it would all look the same.. if you dont like it go pro and show us how to ski

I have to say tanner definatly isn't a park rat there just hasn't been any movie where he is skiing a big mt line or something.

Style should be what ever you think looks good, as for me I like slow spins with corks and off axis. Those to me are very stylish. But as monkey arms go it just makes you spin smother that is the point of it.

I like the fact that nomatter how much Candide flails his arms and legs, he still has something udefinable about his style that looks soo nice!

i agree with ericpoll style should be what ever u think feels good.and as far as tanner forcing the gorilla steeze thats bull shi.

 
if u do it naturaly, awesome. if u worry more about how u get to the jump than the actual trick u r gonna do, kill yourself. if u watch any movie w/ jon in it, he skis the same as he does now. if u watch an old movie w/ tanner, he skis like an actual person, not a fucking monkey. he is forcing his 'steez' and thats bullshit. ski how u ski, not how a boarder boards

 
a 'style' is just how you do something. tanners gorilla style isnt really style...he forces himself to do that. i think the best style is just flowing, and not forcing anything...just doing whatever feels comfortable

why don't you all spend less time worrying about how other people ski and more time worrying about why they are better than you and what you can do to get better than them? The people whose style you mentioned get paid money because they have that style, so who the !@#$ are you to tell them that it sucks? Learn to ski better and talk less.

The only reason I think most people and why I crouch is because of these reasons:

1.To get forward in my boots

2. to get speed

3. so I stay crouched in the air

4. Helps my arms stay down

I dont know about u but I think people ski with a sertain style for a reaon not to copy or be like someone
