Style v. Spin

What do you think is better extremely smooth style or a chunky 1440?

I personally think it is style, but I could be wrong....

stylee. i love the stuff that the nimbus crew and such are doing wayy more than crazzy spins

style duh

but a nice synthesis of the two, within reason for whatever the situation is, to me, great as well. I think many would agree with that.

agreed. while very slow stylish small spins are sick, i like seeing a mix. i like seeing a good skier who can do tons of variations of 7s and 9s. like can do cork, rodeo, with different grabs, both ways, slow fast, etc. i love seeing guys like that (ahem hornbeck)

word, when henrik starts sticking all kinds of grabs with that 16, i have no doubt it will be one of my favourite tricks to see, while i can still appreciate things like tom's zero-spin in turbo, or big floaty 1's and 3s from all corners of the map.

well henriks switch three in the windells jump sesh in turbo was beautiful, just like that member a few posts ahead of me said.

i love seeing huge zero's, 180's and 360's, both switch and natural, over huge features. even with no grabs at all they look soooooooooooo awesome when they are down real slow.

style > spin

Like people have said, style wins over spins.

Good example is Turbo where Tom does that great zero, as well as henrik's slow ones.

But some people can mix the two together, which is even better.

In a film I like to see an athlete have a mixture of crazy style on smaller stuff along with good style on some technical stuff. Just one or the other isn't as impressive as an ability to do a crazy stylish 3 and a 10 grabbed all the way around.

In a contest it needs to be technically difficult and enough style to tell it isn't completely hucked. Techincal grabs that are more stylish definately factor into this though like saftey versus octo is no contest the saftey grabed trick better be miles ahead of the octo grabed trick.
