Style not important? Are you kidding me?

yeah. so all you hardcore dedicated skiers that continulously say, who cares about how you look just go ski... cant be serious, style is essential to skiing, its what makes it so much hotter than snowboarding, and fashion is a large part of that, looking smooth can also give you the confidence to stomp that switch 5, and pick up the ladies in the chalet... first person to reply, 'who cares how u look go ski' gets 5 points

i was talking to my friend about this the other day. something like this my friend just started skiing park and did a rainbow box for his first time and was standing straight up and it just looked funny. arms out like wings and what not. Then i did it all bent at the knees and what felt to be pretty stylie. i then ask him if it looked good. he said you cleaned it. then i said i dont want to just clean it...i want to look good doing it. so yeah. i always think about looking good.

Man who cares what you look like go ski WOOOOT i get the POINTS!!!!

No actually I htink that its not that big of an issue really, its just the fact that people get more caught up in their fashion an steeze then their actually skill in my opinion, like that guy in the members pic he has to have more freedom to move if he just pulled his pants up right......but even with their steeze its getting more and more like the more steeze youhave the less diffecult the trick is, I think that a Smooth Rodeo 7 kicks slow 180 over any big jump anyday the safety grab 180's they keep pullin in my videos are so stylie they suck jumt my opinoin though

impossible is really just a lack of determination

You need a balance of steeze and skill. i'm no pro but everything that i can through i can pretty much do with any grab over any hit and make it look smooth and stylish. i'd rather see someone bust a super super smooth 180 than a hucked cork 7 but thats just my take.

Naw i can have style but it just doesn't feel like I am progressing as much as learning new tricks, I think style is like part of it but its not near as big an issue, because I would rather see a cork 7 then a stylie 180 cuz I know as a skier that I can't throw a corked 7 over a 50 foot table but I could throw a smooth jAPAN 180 over it first day of the season its just not that diffecult, now when you throw style into the tech tricks thats where I think its important is making tech tricks look easy.

impossible is really just a lack of determination

as long as u rip it shouldnt matter what ur wearing seriously not every1 can afford to go out wnad buyt he hottest new jacket and pants set up every year... hell i could care less if some1 is out ther wearing a one piece frmo the early '80's, as long as they are out there doin there thing thats all that should matter

ok

GOTAMA, you can have another 5 points, i know it means alot too you, i agree with the balance thing, its definately about having a little of both, thanks for the intelligent posts...

I think that style is something that skiers should strive for not because others say so, but because they want to master that particular trick. Any spin or cork automatically has at least decent style once the skier is comfortable doing it and has put effort into learning it right. So basically, style should be perfected for yourself, but others can enjoy looking at it too.

its just like if u want to throw say a corked 7, if i saw someone pull it id give them props for having the balls to throw it, and then if they did it stylie itd be sicker, style i think just makes things look good id pick a stylie 5 or even a 3 over an ugly cork any day

don't worry im not racist i have a colored tv

you can only be stylie in a one peice neon suit, end of story.

Style is as important as the trick your doing.. I meen isnt that the point of a trick? cause it looks cool.. doing a trick without style is like doing a dance move wrong. it may be technically the same thing... but it isnt dancing.
