Hey guys,

Just wanted to announce that we have started a shop page here on NS! If you guys have any questions as to what product is being carried in Sturtevant's or any of the 3 Ski Mart locations we'll do our best to respond as quickly as possible.

On a side note, I would like to announce that this fall, we will be carrying a selection of products from Saga Outerwear.

Pretty cool that Sturt's is making more of a push to appeal to Newschoolers and the younger crowd. The Eastside could definitely use a shop like that. And don't worry everyone, the Sturtevant's NS admin isn't some 50-year-old man without any knowledge of this site, but a dedicated Newschooler who's been a respected member for 5+ years.

Welcome to NS, Sturtevant's/Ski Mart!

Good to hear that you're enjoying the boots! The guys in the boot fit lab certainly know what they are doing and thrive off getting positive feedback from customers. Thanks for the support!

sorry but i have never had a good experience with your shop. I have only been to the bellevue location and it has been getting worse and worse every year

last time i went to sturtevants some shop tech mouthed off to me about having shitty gear and took a week to mount my shitty skis for 50$... fuck that

Just as much as we thrive on positive feedback, we build off of the negative. PM me with any outstanding issues you have and we'll make the right adjustments on our end.

I really want to hear specifics about these negative reviews on Sturtevants' service.

I am in no way affiliated with Sturtevants, but I will only trust the Bellevue location for boots, to mount my skis, or perform services on my gear. I have had them mount over 20 pairs of skis in the past 6 or 7 seasons and I received perfect mounts on every pair except for one single mistake, which was a slightly dimpled base caused by a hole that wasn't completely cleaned out. Not a huge deal, I didn't bitch about it and expect compensation, I merely pointed out the mistake and asked what could be done about it. They fixed the dimple without drama and ended up giving me free tuning services for being respectful and patient. All of my skis have been mounted exactly where I asked them to be mounted, regardless if I marked my own line or not. Some employees actually take the time to measure it in front of you to ensure your satisfaction.

I have never seen such a laid back, yet professional shop that actually knows their shit and is more than willing to chat about skis for an hour if they can. To the people that have issues with Sturtevants, I honestly want to know the whole story because I have received nothing but respect and quality service since I moved to WA from MN and chose Sturtevants as my "local shop." Maybe it has something to do with a specific employee, or something else, but I am genuinely curious.

this pretty much sums it up. ive been in there twice and was expecting kind of gaper style advice due to the organization and how just good the store looks but the guy i talked to had to have been over 55 years old and he knew his shit

If we told you, we would have to kill you :) It's essentially ran by 2 people (1 boy and 1 girl), both are in their mid 20s, have worked at the shop for 3+ years, and know their stuff.

Brought my skis to sturtavents last year to be mounted... After waiting the 2 weeks i was quoted on for my skis, I came back to the store to find that they hadn't had a thing done to them since being

... Dropped off. So I had a chat with them and was told to come back a week later. Since its a hour drive through traffic, I wasn't particularly happy. Well another week and another drive through rush hour and I arrived back at good ol sturts. I go to the ski center and what'll ya know, they were forgotten again. At this point I believed that I talked to the manager and made sure that things would be cleared up. So a 3rd drive goes by and I return only to hear that they would not mount my skis with the dirty/worn condition of my boots... Took that shit to my local REI and got my skis mounted in 2 days for half the price with the same boots! So thanks for making an account in my domain sturtavents, I'm elated to share my story with your presence. And by the way your employee billy is an asshole who further diminishes your reputation on this site

damn that whole thing blows. I had a pair mounted there desired to be mounted true center, they mounted them forward on the ski. I dont see how you could mount skis on the front half of the ski. I understand if the messed up and mounted an inch or 2 back, but they mounted 2 inches forward.

Another story is a friend of mine has had to have his skis re mounted 3 times there because the cement they use doesnt keep his bindings in very well. he would just be skiing down the mountain and all of the sudden at a little bump it will just pop off. on top of that one time he stomped a jump, the toe popped off and he fell and dislocated his shoulder.

And one more, another friend of mine has had to take his skis back 3 times because they kept not mounting them at true center, he has tons of holes behind the heel from it and the shop didnt even fill them for him, he had to do it on his own

Let me start by saying that I am concerned with the stories

you guys are sharing. There are many factors that can lead to errors when it

comes to shop work, but I’m not here to make excuses for past mistakes. With

that, I apologize for any issues in the past.

Moving forward… I have been an active member of this site

for 5+ years and I have been an employee of this store for 3. This account is a

service for you guys, where we can establish a dialogue to better represent our

community within Sturtevant’s and the Ski Mart locations. If there are any issues

that come up over the course of the season or if there is anything you would like

to see in our stores, just let me know. I’ll pull the strings on my end to make

things happen or make things right. I’m working for YOU and for the sport that

we all love.

I can't speak to the actions of a seasonal part-time employee or to your opinion of

him. But i can tell you that his statements on this website do not reflect

the opinion of Sturtevants.

The funny part is nobody reps sturts harder than Billy on the hill. He is always offering to fix up people's boots and offer solutions to people with problems on the chairlift. Would you rather trust an aeronautical engineer with your gear or a ADHD rasta dropout?~

this is just impossible to believe. after your 2nd trip there they would have just mounted them on the spot for you. you need to be more assertive.

I have to say that I have never had a bad experience at strutevants. I got my skis mounted there two years ago and my boot were dirty and had rounded off soles, they suggested that I should get new boots or at least new boot soles, but they still mounted the skis on time and didn't force me to do anything.

Also I'm surprised that no one has commented on the claim that they are going to carry saga.

It's not a claim it's the truth! We are going to be carrying this pant in the fall (among other items):http://www.powdermag.com/stories/saga-fatigue-pants/

Also thanks for the support!! We love having you as a loyal customer

Not defending Sturtavents, and what happened to you really sucks, but why didn't you call them before driving out an hour to the shop to see if your ski's where mounted? I mean they should have mounted them by them, but if I were you, I would of called before
