Unless you are being sarcastic......

Okay so your ripping on people who use big vehicles to drive into storms? thats cool. I can understand how an rx7 would stack up. But seriously, its their job to drive into shitty ass places and gather data, and rescue.

And before you guys get to serious into this whole global warming thing read Michael Crichton 'State of Fear'

HOPE is supposed to be part of the Red Cross and to help everyone in general. As far as im concerned Hummers are built for that shit and should be used to their full potential

It has nothing to do with the american market. It's basically what hummers are for(besides military). But they became cool, and it's all the rich people that buy them to be cool that are shitty. Besides. Human Produced CO2 is absolutely nothing compared to what is naturally emitted each year, and CO2 isn't even the worst greenhouse gas.

The h1 and the h2 are not intended for the same purpose. The h2 and h3 are nothing more than a crappy build up of an already crappy SUV (taho/yukon & colorado/canyon). Disregarding my subjective opinion of the quality of these vehicles you can't deny that the usage of the h2's and h3's are no different than any other SUV out there.

The commercial is based towards the American market, we are the only country stupid enough where a company claim that a vehicle with >16 mpg as the answer to climate change disasters.

Natural disasters have always happened. They aren't claiming that the Hummer will stop natural disasters. They're saying that the hummer will get you in and out of rough places.

there are other versions of the commercials, (headline hero's on the hummer website for example) where the overall vibe i get from these commercials are not that there are simply natural disasters, it goes a step beyond. Infact before the hummer logo appeared on one of them i thought at first it might be an advertisement giving global warming attention. It gives more of the impression that the disasters are getting worse, and Hummer will help you survive through them.

Hummers really arent that great of an offroad rig to start. They dont flex for shit and are big, heavy and wide with a shitty break over. On the plus side they do have good approach angles and no rear hangover.

you call hurricanes, forest fires, tornados, and floods as climate change disasters? they are natural disasters.

they have long been happening since the ball on global warming started to roll.

i understand they are naturla disasters, and that they have been happening ever since there have been beach houses, trailor parks, and mountain side homes. The point is that global warming claims that these naturla disasters will happen with greater magnitude, and with greater frequencey.

the commercials are taking this threat of more disasterous disasters and spinning it as a reason to buy a hummer. As you've said natural disasters have been around for ages before global warming ever came to be an issue, however this has been the first time i've seen them used as a threat against the consumer.

do you honestly fail to see the point i'm making or do you need me to connect the dots for you?

no i see them just fine. i just think you're jumping to conclusions.

there have been stronger natural disasters recorded since global warming became a household word.

just look up some statistics of record hurricanes, tornado, forest fires, and etc and you will see this.
