Stupid Unreasonable Ski Patrol

Duck ropes, get pass pulled. It's what you should expect..

I wouldn't have been doing that on a multi-mountain pass or on the first couple days of a long trip/break.

you think it would be gay for a cop to give you a ticket for going 77 in a 65? if you're from illinois where 65 really means 80 and traffic goes 80 so no cop will pull anyone in a group of cars over, i can understand this.

but anywhere else 12 over is enough over to get pulled over and ticketed by pretty much any cop. i've gotten pulled over for 7 over in some places, no ticket but i've heard of 9 over tickets all the time.

and on the topic of ducking ropes. don't do it. find another way to get to the cliff. you can actually get a class D misdemeanor for this as one patroller at A-Bay told me once when my brother and i ducked ropes for pow and some dropoffs in the trees.

but the point about banning you from multiple resorts should be mentioned. if they're under different management you should be able to go to the other ones.

Basically Getting a speeding tickets sucks ass no matter if it was reasonable or not. Getting your pass taken for breaking rules also sucks ass. But you get these crappy things do to rules that you accept when you buy pass/get license so don't hate the players hate the game

You definitely sdeserve to get your pass pulled

However, they have no right to pull it from all the other mountains unless owned by another company

bro, face it they made an example out of you. they saw your tall tees hangin and knew you would wine about it on the internet and people would realize not to duck ropes at mad river. makes their jobs easier

from the skier's perspective it is a load of shit. but if you or your bud were to get hurt in the closed run, even if there was a rope or big signs saying trail closed or whatever, you could sue the living fuck out of the resort. so most resorts take that shit super seriously to avoid ridiculous lawsuits
but i agree with this bullshitness. if i wanna ski some pow, you better believe im jumping a rope to get there

No joke sundown mtn in Iowa I came switch out of a rail and skied about 100 feet downhill. Ski patrol starts yelling at me to stop skiing backwards. I do. A couple runs later I'm doing it again and this like 45 year old woman patroller stops me, screams at me and then pulls my pass...

we don't have this problem in europe at all! so happy to be here :D oh and we have tons of snow :P

Well if they let you duck the rope once , everyone else is going to duck the rope once. View it from the mountains point of view . It sucks but don't duck a rope. Fuck i ducked one last season and i guess they were doing avy work. Needless to say they were not pleased. Talk my way out though yeeehhhaaawww

when i was with my school skiing in MA i got yelled at by a patroller for going in the woods! wtf he said i wasnt experienced enough and he was a shitty skier.

If there was no rope or sign, or it wasn't clearly marked as closed, that's wack. If you knowingly sucked the sign, then you fucked up and need to accept the consequences. Don't duck closures,.

haha yes this. its so funny. they legit wear full police uniforms while skiing. equipped with guns, tasers, batons, pepper spray etc.

when the fuck will you ever need a gun on the mountain?

"DAD HOW LONG IS THE DRIVE TO VERMONT""WHY""BECAUSE I'M DROPPING THAT CLIFF< , AND IF I GET IN TROUBLE, I"M PUNCHING SKI PATROL"
Seriously, that's retarded

if the patroller that saw you didnt stop you..... dont give them your fucking pass are you kidding me. i woulda said fuck you and left. there could be other people dressed like you on the mountain and if the guy didnt follow you to make sure it was you how could the people at the bottom of the hill be sure it was you. just say you have me mistaken with someone else, that wasnt us. I would go back up there with your parents(im guessing you are younger and they bought you the pass) and have them bitch the people out saying it wasnt you and that you will never buy passes from their company again if you dont give the multi mountain pass back to you. this should honestly work, they arent going to care that much to get in a huge fight with your parents.

if you arent young, go back up and say the same shit.

It really depends on the resort. I have skied Colorado a good amount and never had an issue, I have skied local NY resorts and been fucked with but the icing on the cake is busting backflips over patrolmen at Stowe. And getting a thumbs up when looking back. It depends on how you act around them. My group of friend skied there enough and followed the rules most the time that we built up a bit of mutual respect.

Damn I'm about to head out to Sundown tomorrow, from Indiana. But.... I may go to Blue Knob PA now haha. thats not straight, and they shouldn't be able to enforce that, because in the park you take you own risks and responsibilites.

hows the conditions there? worth driving 9 hours?

LOLOLOLOLO

That sorta sucks, yesterday I was on the lift with a patroller at my hill (Alpine Meadows) and he asked me about switch takeoffs and kinks in boxes and rails... a few runs later, I saw him do a switch 1 and then slide an up-flat box from the chair.
