Stupid powder mag

the video reviews are out on powder mag dot com. Of course they gave The Hit list the best review ever, but they gave Shanghai six the worst review. In my opinion Shanghai six was easily the best movie of the year and this review just lowers my respect for powdermag even more so.

heres the link: http://powdermag.com/05-movie-reviews/index.html

the review for S6 is on the fourth page

well powder mag readers arent watching shanghigh six because they are big moutain hippe skiers i am surprised they didn't give tangerine dream number one

i dont think powder is that influencial to anyone cept the aforemenitoned hippie skiiers. just cause shanghai 6 didnt appeal to them doesnt mean the world will crash down. actually it doesnt mean anyhting at all.

This made my day:

"As expected from a film by Tanner and CR, the thematic elements revolve around a limo drop-off, private champagne party, and plenty of skiers-acting-like-rappers filler....Pop Yer Bottlez! is, to this day, the worst display of skier-gone-gangsta cliché..."

Now, before I get flamed, I'm not knocking the skiing in the movie, I just thought these comments were hilarious.

Powder mag is going after a different market. Obviously they will not rate S6 highly because there is no big mountain footage. Movies without big lines do very little for me. Until level 1 movies include big mountain lines, they will only be popular among park rats.

"Then there’s a quick mistake of taking the Olenick brothers—two respectable park skiers—to Alaska. They survive, but honestly, who cares?"

What the fuck!?!? All hese old "hardcore" fags talk about how kids arent good skiers just because they ski the park, and when people finally go out and prove themselves they still talk shit. fucking ass-faggots.

it didnt seem like they disliked it, it just seemed like the powder seens in shaghi were weeker than tangerine dream. Which is true, but i like shanghi six the best

gotta love that shit... i hate how tanner acts like hes a fuckin 16 year old kid whos from harlem. damn tanner you grew up in fucking montana. give me a break

they do thats the thing

but powder mag is one of the best mags, just cuz they have a bad movie opinioon doesnt mean they suck

yeah if u look at the top 5 on their list it is defendently top 5 moives of the year. and hitlist is def one because it has the best shot and great skiing even if its not shot in the park its still the top 5

I think I'd rather ski with " big mountain hippie skiers" any day rather than a bunch of wanna-be gangsta kooks that try way too hard to be black thugs.

Some of you kids are seriously retarded. Powder magazine was started as a big mountain mag, so of course their reviews would reflect that. BMXwhatever, the Olenicks for SURE did not dominate in the big mountain, so I don't get where you're talking about them "proving themselves". I for one agree that Hitlist is the best movie of the year. Its the best produced, most costly for sure, and has the best cinemetography(sp?) of any of them. Plus it has the LONGEST playing time. The rest are like a half hour.

Don't get me wrong, S6 was sweet, but its only going to appeal to Jibbers, like PYB only appeals to wankster faggots (exception: the skiing was good).

If you're looking for a specific type of skiing, check out PYB, Whiteshine, S6, etc. If you're looking for an overal glimpse of the skiing world, MSP is taking over where Warren Miller left off.

well, when the option for big mountain skiing is the extreme fringe of the scene (hippie skiers), those of us who would rather ski big mountain than park are going to point out the extreme fringe of the park scene (wanna-be-gangstas who spend their parent's money to buy all their new shit at the beginning of each season). give us a more realalistic and less demeaning option for big mountain skiers and we'll be less critical of park skiers.

Are they listed best to worst, or is there no particular order? Because there is no way they scored PYB higher than Booter Crunk, Whiteshine, and SH6.

The reviews were alright for the most part, but I think Powder's hard-on for big mountain gets in the way a little too much.

Powder does what they do. They make sick Magazines, and who cares who they gave the best rating to? I liked Hit List so i almost agree with them on giving it the best film of the year. I would've said Tangerine Dream, but whatever. They have there own style on doing things and it shouldn't lower your respect towards them.

yea if yer looking for new school park skiing powder aint yer mag, msp prolly did pay 4 the review a bit but powder is rating movies based on its audience, hardcore powder skiiers
