I was skiin at mammoth in the superpipe and some parent takes her 8 year old son or daughter in the pipe and as i was about on the third or fourth hit as i am coming up the left wall look down to realize if i land i am going to hit this kid and in my effort to avoid killig this kid i get a concusion and break my nose.

I am not mad at the kid but i want to know about the kids parents.

What is wrong with people?

nobody knows. Not even them, themselves. They just don't understand. They just don't realize that mountain sports are at a new level and people use this half of a pipe to go in the air and land back in it. They are light years behind our generation. They just don't understand. Thigns like that happen. Just gotta deal w/ it. Yes, it sucks.

yah, those pussy little kids suck

sorry about the concussion and broken nose that’s pretty bad

Don’t really bash the kid though....everyone probably does something like that at a really young age yah its stupid in all but beginners just can't help it they just haven't learned yet.

i saw this little kid in the pipe the other day, he was snowboarding, he was trying to boost huge (for someone his size) out of it but he always landed on the deck, it was funny, but that little kid was a badass for trying

some dumbass parent brought his 4 year old over 3 20 foot tables thats pretty dumb if u ask me i think the dad should be shot in the face for putting his four year old in danger of getting a concussion...

TRY EVERYTHING EVEN IF IT MEANS, KICKING YOUR OWN ASS

wow any dad that takes their kid off 20 foot tables should just be kicked in the nuts really hard so he wont have anymore kids to fuck up

hahahaha kicked in the nuts, thats a good one.... its true, everyone in the park should have to pass some type of course or something so we dont get dumbasses in the park fucking things up

What the hell were they doing with a car on the moon?... havent they gone far enough?

at my park kids enjoy SITTING on the rails, even when me and my friends are at the top waiting to hit it, we yelled at them but they didnt hear us, and they only got off it when my friend went down and asked them. Some people just need to learn more before they come into the park, I figure that for every one person that knows what hes doing in the park, theres about 10 little (or big) fucks that dont have a clue, and snake you on jumps, sit on rails, and ride over tables.

yeah my dad kept me away from the jumps when i was real little because he didn't want me to get hurt...thats just plain stupid of that parent

Yeah some parents are so fucking inconscient...

I remember once a liitle girl was skiig in the snowpark, I did a jump, and she just skied in the landing zone, I could just land next to her... I was lucky

im teachimg my 9 yea old brother to lay it down in the park

When the five powers combine, they summon Earth's greatest champion, Captain Planet!

hey it aint the kids fault.

My problem is the parents.

In this situation i got hurt but sooner or later they will get hurt and then they are the same people that will sue the mountain and what terain parks removed becuase they are 'dangerous'

Recently i heard you need a seperate pass to ski the park at whistler at first i was like that sucks.

After this happened i was thinking that this kid and his parents would have never been in the park because they would have had to buy a pass.

yeah, ive seen some people like parents who bring little kids ito the park, and them or their kid usually deck it like on some table or just kinda go ¼ the way up the wall in a half pipe stuff, then tey accidentiely get in the way of some other person and its like shit,i dunno... but i do like how you need a pass to go into blckcombs park

Chicken Wang?

*Fuck El Niño*

I've never gone into Blackcomb's pro section but I don't think you have to 'pass' anything. You just got to wear a helmet and pay $15. I think the fact that it's exclusive is enough to keep people who don't know what they're doing out of there.

and yeah, all the time on the mount I just see parents getting their kids to go tubing/down a run/etc. when their kid is sobbing and saying 'no, I don't wanna'. But I mean if you pay $30 for the day and your kid's just not doing anything it's somewhat understandable.

has anyone ever successfully sued a mountain in Canada??? Because I'm pretty sure the disclaimer would hold up in our courts.

How about the states???

No Mr.Porcupine, I don't wanna see your weiner

How the disclaimer doesn't hold up in american courts, I have no friggen clue... Soemthing I will never understand about ur judicial system.

I'm all for a special pass to weed out the hazardous people that would otherwise just come thru and get trouble going.

Well I had a similar experiance. I was skiing pretty fast over a series of rollers and there was this kid skiing really slow and from side to side. Anyways I jumped the roller and I though I had avoided the kid but one of my friends said I had jumped right over him... good thing I didn't hit him cause I could have gotten lots of shit; a kid died on that hill just two days ago coming off a roller.

if they didnt make you pay then you would have to pass a test like when is a jump clear.

What do u say and look for before aproaching a jump.

Where not to stand and common courtesy and just like the $15 to get in only people who really want to be in the park will take the time to pass the test all the rest wont bother and the idiots will stay out of the park.

The people who are the worst are the ones that suck.

The only people more dangerous then people who dont know what they are doing is those who think they do and they should be pro and suck. (mainly snowboarders)

people who aproach and then chicken out 2 feet from the lip.

i can go on and on and on

its Just frustrating

Where I ski som dumb ass snowboarders just sit on the top of the kicker. And one time when I was going huge at the corner some snowboarder comes jibbing to the landing of the corner. If I would have just a litle bit more speed I would have landed on his neck.

I like the idea of the pass at blackcomb, but i don't like the fact that your forced to pay $15 i mean hasn't the interwest corp made enought money off your broke ass?

Blue mountains system is better, Free- you take a 15 minute park saftey video then your set....

'I'm still Ugly'

I run into that problem a lot as well. Not in the pipe, but on the hits. Parents just don't understand that a park is not a regular trail.

LifeJacket

I'm pretty sure you have to pay an additional $15 for the park pass. It's not a big deal for those who have a membership, but I'm gonna be up a few times this year and they're already ripping me off for my regular lift ticket. So I'm not sure whether or not I'm gonna do it... obviously if it were a free park pass, I would go watch the video.

No Mr.Porcupine, I don't wanna see your weiner

all the time at my mountain, parents take their 4 yr old kids who are wearing those stupid leashes into the park, pick them up, place them between their legs, and proceed to ski over the jumps like whales on the mountain, wrecking the lips, digging out the deck, and scrapping all the snow off the landing.

also, i hiked to the highest drop in pt. yesturday to get enough speed for the table i was going to hit. when the table was clear i yelled i was dropping in, then proceeded to hit it straight on. i threw a 360 tail, and as i was coming around i saw a kid sittin on the landing, right where i was about to hit, and yes, i landed directly on his figgin head. he was fine and even admitted it was his fault, but still how stupid do you get???

This subversive propaganda has been brought to you by The Republican Army.

hmm on one hand its good that the parents are bringing there kid in the pipe so maybe one day he might become a pro skier. one the other hand people that make other people get cuncossions cuz they blow ass should be shot, peace out

theyre building a gay ass park at my hill but its for only little kids like 4 years old and theyre making it so you dont get speed cuz they heard speed is the worst thing to have in a park, theyre all gay and deserve to die a horrible horrible death by gettin 10 shots in the head execution style and then delimbed. little kids also used to sit on rails when we had them and when we build nice big jumps,we have no choice to let little kids hit them and in a dayn theyre ruined cuz they go too slow and some stop on it and they ruin our quarter pipes all the time because they think its a jump to launch over it and it loses all the vert and we have to rebuild it,it sucks to be in the position were in,dont let it happen to you

mauii.. how'd you get yours free? do you work there?

oh yeah and talking about being delimbed, has anybody seen the movie VERY BAD THINGS or something like that? (I saw it last night and it was the funniest movie ever!)

No Mr.Porcupine, I don't wanna see your weiner

A shot in the face is the solution to every problem. I was skiin today and i hit this small kicker and this little boarder was in front of me and when he landed he stopped and sat down and so i landed on him. fuckers should just learn to ride the mountain first so that they dont hurt themselves or other ppl on the jumps.

----now i lay me down to sleep, blah blah blah my soul to keep, if i die before i wake ill go to hell for heavons sake.

ya it sucks. a lot of younger kids don't know to wait there turn to hit a jump. parents and instructors also suck for letting little kids snowplow over the lips.

con_cept

I've seent that movie, it was alright.

Anyways, I hate it when the parents are bringing their kids in the park and whatever because you always see them slowly going over stuff. Last season I was launching the rollers when I saw this little kid on the left of me snowplowing and I had to swirve and hit the roller all awkward and almost wiped. Sucks when people who can't even carve are in the pipe.

yah, kids suck...we had a 35 foot table at our park and parents would leash onto their kids and take em over it...i was like 'what the hell...' it was pretty damned screwball...

joey: whats that?

me: i dunno

Joey: me either but it's comin back!

There is another broblem here too. If you try out new trick and bail you wont get much time to move away before theres goin to be like 5 snowboarders crashing you.

dont give the kid a hard time....give the DAD A HARD TIMe

Some people got to learn...you don't need good equipment to get some mad tricks

It's not the fact that the kids suck, it's that they don't have any common sence. I suck, but atleast I wait my turn and I actually jump the jumps.

What do rocks and chicks have in common?

You skip the flat ones!!!!

ya that sucks. i would have found that parent and cussed my brains out at that dick. but not all parents are like that. a couple days ago i saw some parent coaching his little kid on 360 crosses. the kid was gettin pretty good air for how small he was. thats cool, but some people just suck.

Try what i did, i sent this email, and suggested lots of good ideas and i think they might really do something about it.

My Email:

Ok. I am 16 and have been skiing since i was 9. I am very interested in newschool skiing, and am glad to see that a little more effort is being put into the terrain parks. However, I would really like to help with making the park areas safer and with the design of some of the features. First, with safety, I think there are couple problems that NEED fixed. First, about 85% of the people I have seen in the park areas have skied either around or over the features. Not only does this cause congestion, but it also ruins the lips on jumps when people ski over them. I have even seen quite a few people in the park that are very, very new to the sport, and the last place they should be is in there. I am aware that younger, and/ or less skilled skiers and snowboarders should have access to a terrain park, but as is stated more and more, they need to be segregated some what. A system that might work well for Brandywine, is something similar to what is used at Blue Mountain and Blackcomb’s The Highest Level Park. They have a special park pass that is required to enter the park. This pass is obtained by taking a class that goes over things such as park etiquette and other important knowledge for park riding. This would help with keeping people out who shouldn’t be there, and would make it much safer for the people who should.

As with the design of the park, I think you have the right idea with keeping the dude ranch area a real park, and the hill next to it more of a beginner area. However, many of the people that should be on the beginner side are in the more advanced section. This is where a park pass would work wonders. Another thing that I would love to see is a real tabletop jump that is of respectable size. I think a 40-50 foot table with two different take-offs would fit very nicely down by the lift. This would give experienced riders like me a jump to showcase our skills. The tables that are up now need more distance. The size of the jump makes it very easy to overshoot, and undershooting a jump is much safer than overshooting it and landing in the flats.

OK. Thank you very much for reading this, but I have one more comment to make. The no inverts policy has got to go. I am aware that it is due to insurance reasons, but skiing and snowboarding are evolving very fast and this is hampering people like me who are really trying to get good at what we love. There must be some way we could get around it. It might involve the strict use of helmets, or a waiver of rights, but I would really like to see something happen to allow certain people who are ready to do inverts be able to do them. No one wants to break the rules, and no one wants their pass clipped, as I have seen numerous times happen so far this year for inverts. I Think something like this might be able to be incorporated into a Park Pass, and would make Boston Mills & Brandywine a much more fun and entertaining place to ski.

Thank you very much for you time in reading this and responding, as I have tried to give suggestions to help solve problems instead of just complaining about them like I’m sure many do. Thanks Again,

Chris

'about 15-20 minutes after i'd started pushing, the thing came out of my ass. I felt so relieved i started to cry. now here's the funny part. Because the shit was so hard and so big, after it was out my body went into shock. I turned all clamy, my clothes and my body were soaked in sweat, and i started to shiver and spasm uncontrollably. I just sat back on the pot and decided to wait it out. I sat on the fuckign toilet for over an hour with sweat forming a puddle on the floor, and me feeling like i'd been shoved under snow with no clothes on.' Crystaline Skier

Another reason why park passes make A LOT of sense. I dont care if you dont wnana pay 10 bucks and watch a video, it helps keep the park safer, and more enjoyable. who agrees?

but that kinda sucks if you go to 5 different mountains on a regular bases and you need to do that at everyone?

vail's park is set up nice so that it;s hard to get to from regular trails. SO the only people who are ever there are parkers. The only problem is that the race course is next to it so by the end of the day its overrun by those little groms

Hey tahoe. I believe that the blue ones will work at any intrawest resort, for all who travel mountain to mountain. it is a bit of work if you skii at like 5 local ones, but i still think it is a good idea.

park passes!!!!!!!!!

i predict in year 2010 there will be no snowboarders and all freeskiers , why because skiing kicks ass!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think every resort should require a park pass for the advanced park. Also, why would someone take their kid into the superpipe? why not the normal pipe at mammoth?

the worst is when the fuckin dumbshit instructors take the kids through the park. middle of the pipe snowplowing, skiing over the tables and stopping on the landing. its ridiculas

crested butte has a good system from what i've seen... if the park is busy they have someone on a megaphone telling people if the jumps are clear or not

*******************

i hate all of you

hmmm, thats an awesome idea, a pernment spotter... oh oh, um, yea, this wasnt about the park, but about 'advanced terrain' if you want to call it that, anywy, i was just about to get onto this chair that is the more advanced one, and these 2 snowbaorders and a skier come up behnd and the lift op says 'you know this is experts only right?' and they go yea yea, so they get to the top and practically shit bricks. then they proceeded to heel scrape(the boarders) slide slip(the skier) and sit down about every 20 feet cause they were scared to shit and had no idea what to do, so yea, it would be kinda nice to have a certain pass dealy for stuf like that, but i dont give a shit, just kinda a thought

-Grant

*Fuck El Niño*

undershooting can be lot dangerous than overshooting but its depend on the kicker. I just saw som dude trying to jump of the biggest kicker here even when he hasnt try the smallest jump before. He got too short and he vas taken away with ambulance.

Mammoth like a lot of resorts have parks for the less advanced riders to start on but many just skip that and want to hit the jump like in the video they watched they night before and dont know there limits until 2 feet from the lip when they change there mind.

At my local mountaian which is Mt. High the biggest problem is people on boards hitting the jump one after another in like a train formation then there are those who snake you as you are rolling after you yelled dropping put your hand up waved your arms and all and as someone mentioned earlier they dont even wait to see if you landed before they take off which makes it hard to progress for fear of getting run over or landed on.

They need to have the park staff patroll the parks post a sighn stating all the rules and etiquite and if you dont follow you will be kicked off the mountain.

The first time you do something you rtecieve a warning about what you did wrong and are told to read the park rules.

If you violate again CLIP the ticket.

It can be enforced by scanning the ticket and or marking it at mountains where they dont scan tickets.

It will work just like the road, people dont run red lights or go 120 for the most part.

Why?

Because they are afraid of getting a ticket in this case loosing a ticket.

About the previous comment of suing a ski resort in the states and if its possible because you sign a waiver.

Unfortuanately in the United States we do not have the freedom to sign our rights away.

So pretty much any form, document, ticket, or agreement that you make claiming that you will not hold the mountian responsible for injury is meainingless.

Because in the United States, you can not sign your rights away.

I feel it is our right to be able to sign away our rights as we choose.

Until this gets changed, ski resorts as well as many other institutions will have stupid rules and limits.

People will continue to sue for things that were their fault, and everyone else will have to pay.

An example: A girl had hit a massive big air jump at my mountain, she had no business whatsoever hitting that jump. She did not have the adequate skills, she then flails, she crashes and becomes paralyzed.

She sued my mountain for 12 million dollars.

(my mountain is fairly small)

Because of this, we no longer have our big air or skier-x competitions.

Tell me thats not fucked?

Eat. Sleep. Breathe. Ski.
