Stupid god damn shop

i took my chronics in to get mounted and i specifically told them 100 times to mount them 2cm back from center i even went into the back of the shop and measured with the guy to find out exactly where that was. So he tells me he will do it, i just got my skis back and they are mounted 6cm back from center!!

i dont really want to get them drilled again so how will they handle in the park now? will i notice the difference? will it make switch stuff harder?
 
yeah thats really bad if they didnt do what you asked and you asked them a 10 times and then showed them get over there and get a new pair of skis yo
 
Yah I would definately do that, too. But thats just about where the recommended mount is so they should still be fine for park since they are still a freestyle ski, but alas you wanted more forward so go back and raise hell.
 
i would demand a new pair of skis. if yuou specifically asked for certain specifications, the shop has to comply (that is as long as it won't purposely harm you... the shop would be liable then)
 
i dont want to get them remounted because them they are harder to sell no one wants to buy skis that have been drilled twice

i think i should ask for a new pair the only good brand they carry is armada but i dought they are going to give me a pair

should i ask for ar5 or t-hall??
 
yeah just ask them in a quiet pissed off voice like your gonna explode and shit. and if they dont then slap them or something.
 
AR5. for sure. Cept the t-halls are stiffer in the tail this year. So if you are just gonna be riding park and some groomers, maybe you should consider those.
 
tell them to give you a new pair. On the mounting order sheep did it say -2? If it did then they are liable, if they wont give you a new pari, then tell them, that they will hear from your lawyer,
 
their not going to give you brand new ar5s for mounting them 4 cms back, was it A1? if it was just tell them to remount them, no charge, becuase they made a mistake, their pretty cool there.
 
If that happened in our shop we'd probably remount them and give ya like $80 in store credit for the mistake
 
of course they are going to remount the skis for free. i say just make a big fuss about it and they should at the very least give you some sort of store credit. honestly, its dick to do this but sometimes it needs to be done. it doesn't help that you didn't buy the skis from them, cause if you did, I would definitely demand a new pair. I doubt they will give you a pair of AR5s but if you make enough noise and bitch enough, you will get something. and check it if says -2 from center on your mounting ticket, cause if it did, then you definitely have a lot of leverage to complain about and could possibly take legal action (though you prolly wouldn't for something this stupid, but you have that legal right and you can use that to threaten the shop).
 
you'll have much better luck resolving this situation if A-you make sure to always frequent a reputable SKI shop, not some shit box store, and not something like sport chek, sport mart, etc, and B-you're nice, polite, clear, smart, and sympathetic towards the guys working in the back and the shop in general.

Go in with a "fuck you guys" attitude and I can guarantee that you'll have it served right back to you X 5.
 
first step is to get your ticket. then if it says +2 just approach the subject fairly cool, but make it clear that the shop screwed up so you'd like a new pair of chronics. don't go around asking for t-halls or shit like that because while they kind of owe you skis, they owe you the skis you brought in, not ones that are 200 bucks more almost in the t-hall's case.
 
The guy said he wanted to mount 2cm back from CENTER. So if the form said just +2 he might be screwed.
 
i have a question for anyone who reads this...

when you bring your skis in to get mounted, and they make you sign all of this crap, is there anything in there that says something like, "if we fuck up, it is not our problem"?
 
2cm back from the very center of the ski i think thats true center

i dont wont to get them drilled again because that would make them harder to sell and not sellable for as much money

my skis are 167 but they actually measure 165

i measured the fronts and back of the ski from the point they were mounted at and it turns out the back of the ski is 5 inches shorter than the front(12cm) thats alot!
 
I got my skis mounted by Jibij just to this doesn't happen. When I asked the guy at my local store if they had the Look binding jig he responded "do they still make those?"
 
i asked for 1 cm back from center... and mine are forward mounted. like, in front of center. looks like i'll be skiing a lot of switch.
 
i was just talking to the guy at the shop and he said that they wont perform properley if they arent at the recomended mounting spot is that true?
 
the turning radius might be a little weird but you will definitally be able to ski them and ski them well. it doesnt even matter if they said it will screw up the preformance. the fact is is that you asked them to be mounted forward and they didnt do what you asked. just give them loads of shit if they wont replace the skis
 
thats bs. but as i have said before, any guy working at a shop is a potential retard. tech or whatever you call them, i bet they are non-edjucant morons who think they know everything. be sure to mark with a permanent marker at your ski where you want the bindings mounted, thats the midsole point of your boot. that way, if they screw up, you could probobly kick the guys nuts, steal a pair of skis and still get away with it.
 
and yeah. getting your skis mounted incorrect blows so much balls. id be so fucking pissed of. like, its their job, what else is there to life?
