Stupid comments toward skiing...

dude whats wrong with that? you gotta make sure your foot fits properly in the boot while your moving around. if your heel lifts off the back of the boot thats a problem.

ok well here we go, i was on vacation it killington last march. they open up the park and probably 60 percent of the people riding it are just riding it for the cords. i politely say "this run is for people who are hitting the the features" not word for word but you get the idea. he snorts back with "i will ski whatever run i feel like" like this guy is fucking jesus. then he pops back in with "see you next run, right here" and skis away. me being a smartass say "alright see you there douchebag"

yeah jon we do have alot of dumbasses at our school i get shit for it all the time and say skiing is gay from kids who are the biggest nerds and are just poser snowboarders who dont know anything and pry have never seen me ski or anything the cool kids are the ones who know what true skiing is and go along and act liek i do towards boarding and dont be a dick about it

I always seem to get the little 11 year olds always telling me that skiing is gay and such. I usually just turn around and laugh at their ignorance.

(First post of many)

Me and my friend (snowboarder) one time took this guy up who said he had been snowboarding before. He shows up at my friends house with nothing snow related except a jacket, other than that it was jeans and vans, he thought he didn't need boots and that his vans would suffice. My friend had some extra boots and I had pants, but man he was a SUPER GAPER! Then he tryed to convert me to snowboarding and I said "you don't know HOW to snowboard and you think you'll convince me...sure"

and of course there's all the kids at school who still think skiing is gay that I still have to deal with. Only the good snowboarders are cool about it.

"you should snowboard"

"why"

"cause it's cooler than skiing"

"who one the olympic halfpipe"

"uh....uh"

"exactly

hahah i got one

my boss at mt snow was like "anyone can go through a park and huck theselves, it takes real skill to turn."

i laughed and said ok lunch break me and you will hit up inferno(no longer inferno). ok so were sking though and we get to the 1st step down me. go hit boss boss" no thancks its a lil big"

wow i hated him for that

I have two

1: at the FIS world cup superpipe comp. The competition is nearly over and my freind turns and says to me: enough fore-runners, this is a snowboarding competition!

2: All my freinds say im a fag skier, as in "why do you ride park your a fag skier"

These kids purposely avoid riding park with me because "its to hard on a snowboard"

this isnt really a stupid just how different my parents are, my mom skied alot of big mt, lived in salt lake for 7 years after college, jackson for a while, my dad raced and hadnt been out west until he met my mom, but i recently bought a medic, yes i like my fartbag, but its a large so its pretty baggy, my momys like oh it fits perfectly, my dad goes, are you kidding it should be tighter, idk i found it funny, and how my mom is 5 4 120 ish and loves fat ski and road 184s, and how my dad still loves his gs ski and still ride 177 and is 5 10 at 160

well I was in Cardrona (NZ) on a powder day talking to some guy on the lift and said "what a sweet as day ...l cool that there's so much powder eh?" to which he said "yeah it's HARD WORK to ski today." yeah....

at work I often get "U snowboard right????" probably cos of the way I dress... and when I say no I ski... they say "why??????" and then I just say snowboarding is for old people, a trend from the ninetees. (and then they feel really old because I'm 10 years younger than most of them)

i always get adults telling me stupid shit like that jibbing is "so bad for your edges, why do you do that" and like telling me that im gonna mess up my skis. it gets old haha

at the ski sawp today there were some troublemakers there, so a customer asks a employee how much tehy would be brand new, and he just turned and looked at me, assuming i would know. and then of course theres the people walking around to see if their ski boots fit. and the occasional "why are there 2 tips on these skis?" and some other ones i just forget right now.

no some people just dont feel comfortable skiing beyond their limits and are more than happy with skiing normal piste. just because they dont launch themselves of kickers doesnt mean theyre not skiiers

*standing in lift line* old guy to my friend - "Hey, your skis are backwards!" (only seeing the tails)

my friends who snowboard - "why do you ski"

me - "cause it's better than snowboarding"

them - "but it's gay"

me -"no"

them - "i could ski when i was like 5!"

me - "i'll show u up anytime, skiing kills it"

I am a ski instructor and get alot of stupid commets from them but once it rained and one the parants flipped out at my boss cause there child was out in the rain and threatened to call child protective services on him. he just said something like you put them in the lesson.

And once i was in the shop and some 40 year old gapper came in with his brand new foil boots and asked if they had any softer boots since they were to stiff for him.

my freind got a sick deal on last years scratch fs's and had ski market mount them. (he went wrong in the first place with ski market) but it turns out they mounted his bindings on the skis backwards and hes making them get him a pair of new skis now, possibly this years models
